New for 2009! Equipped with a large, high-output white LED bulb and a smaller red LED bulb, the Petzl Tikka Plus 2 is a multi-dimensional headlamp. Suitable for hiking, climbing, caving, sailing or any number of activities that demand the need for additional lighting, the feature-rich Tikka Plus 2 is lightweight, compact and easy to use.
A large, user-friendly electronic push-button allows you to choose between the various lighting modes on the Tikka Plus 2. The white LED bulb produces a maximum brightness of 50 Lumens, sufficient to cast light up to nearly 115 feet. Two additional settings allow you to regulate the length of the beam, increasing efficiency and burn time in the process. The lowest, most economical setting on the Tikka Plus 2 increases burn time to a full 140 hours. A fourth setting produces a flashing, strobe light for emergency signaling. A single red LED also provides a continuous and flashing setting. This red filtered light is especially helpful for allowing the user to maintain night vision for when the light is turned off. A hinge on the housing of the lamp enables you to aim the beam where you need it most.
The Tikka Plus 2 is powered by three Alkaline AAA batteries (included). With batteries, the Tikka Plus 2 weighs 2.93 ounces. To further reduce weight and allow for better performance at lower temperatures, the Tikka Plus 2 is also compatible with lithium batteries (sold separately).
Water-resistant and suitable for all-weather use, the Petzl Tikka Plus 2 includes a comfortable, adjustable elastic headband and is available in your choice of colors.
