Product Highlights
New for 2008! Petzl’s Compact ST aluminum trekking poles are an excellent balance of price and performance. Contoured grips, external locking mechanisms and maximum adjustability equip Compact ST poles for reliable all-season usage.
The external locks of Compact ST poles are far easier to adjust than the internal locking mechanisms used on many poles. Convenient features all-year round, external locks really show their value in winter. Rather than requiring the dexterity for micro-adjustments of internally-locking poles, Compact ST poles can be manipulated without any need to remove gloves, eliminating the risk of exposure to snow, wind and cold.
Contoured EVA foam grips lend Compact ST poles an ergonomic, comfortable handhold. Further enhancing winter performance, textured grip zones beneath the foam grips offer glove-friendly, secondary contact points that allow you to adjust where you grasp the poles and eliminate the need to shorten or extend poles each time you encounter a steep slope. Integrated straps help to reduce stress on your wrists.
Tungsten/Carbide tips provide traction on unimproved surfaces and protect the shafts of the poles from structural damage by flexing if and when poles get stuck between rocks or in cracks. Both standard and winter baskets are included with each pair of Compact ST poles, providing versatility for use in varied conditions.
Petzl Compact ST trekking poles are sold in pairs.
