Product Highlights

The Patagonia Men’s Exosphere Jacket is a feature-rich hard-shell designed to handle extreme winter conditions. Cold, wet weather is no match for this jacket, which keeps you and your layering system comfortably protected from the elements.

Utilizing a durable 3-layer nylon fabric that incorporates a waterproof/breathable barrier and a water repellent finish, the Exosphere Jacket adheres to Patagonia’s stringent H2No performance standard for long-term endurance of the garment. Expert field testers as well as factory testers inflict extreme punishment to expose weaknesses in materials and construction with regard to waterproofness, breathability and durability, and only the strongest garments receive Patagonia’s approval.

Great for climbing and mountaineering in frigid and snowy conditions, the Exosphere Jacket features a full suite of pockets, including two zippered top-entry chest pockets with pressed pleats that expand for storage of essential items, as well as two zippered handwarmer pockets and a zippered internal pocket. The 2-way adjustable hood is helmet compatible. A dual-adjust drawcord hem and self-fabric hook and loop cuff closures are ready to seal out drafts. Or open the pit zips to increase ventilation.

With a regular fit that’s made for wear over base and mid-layers in extreme cold, the Patagonia Men’s Exosphere Jacket is available in a variety of color and size choices.

Styles available: Large Viking Blue, Medium Eclectic Orange, Medium Viking Blue

Likes: I like the design of this jacket, especially the alpine cut and deep external chest pockets that are totally accessible with a pack on.

Dislikes: Granted this product does not feature Gore tex, I was curious about the effectiveness of h2no, and have sadly discovered that this jacket does not breathe well nor protect well against even light wind. I was hoping for a spring touring shell but this does not cut it. Very cool raincoat for use around town though...

Likes: It is a high quality shell, keeping out the wind and water but also breathable. It is durable, well made, simple but pragmatic design, (a few pockets but not too many), the hood accommodates my ski helmet, and it is in plain black. I'm not one for much of color vomit pattern, and it is just all around a super shell.

Dislikes: Really, nothing. I'm very satisfied with it.
