Product Highlights

A perennial award-winner, the classic Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero is the most recognizable rain hat in the outdoors. Even in the worst of rain storms, the Seattle Sombrero keeps your head dry.

Employing Taslan Gore-Tex fabric and fully-taped seams, the Seattle Sombrero is waterproof, windproof and vapor permeable. The foam-stiffened brim provides a wide shelf so rain runs off well away from your face and body. The brim can also be fastened on either or both sides of the Seattle Sombrero when conditions clear and you desire greater visibility or ventilation.

An adjustable Cinch-Band internal adjustment system and brushed tricot lining ensure a comfortable, contoured fit. An adjustable draw-cord chin strap enhances fit and can be removed if not needed.

The Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero is available in 4 sizes and your choice of color options.

Styles available: Black L, Black M, Black S, Black XL, Khaki M, Khaki XL

Likes: Repels water very effectively, it beaded up nicely.
Wind-proof. Wore it on a December kayak trip and was comfortable.

Dislikes: Maybe not the best fashion statement.

Likes: Very comfy and waterproof. Well made, top notch!

Dislikes: Could be a little stiffer with more of a solid form to it.

Likes: This product was the first of its kind, and in my opinion is still the best on the market. It breathes well, and the huge brim keeps you dry and out of the sun.

Dislikes: I wish it packed down a little smaller, but then, if it did, it might not be as solid a hat as it is...

Likes: Can't wait to use it when the weather cools down - haven't had a chance to field test it yet

Likes: This hat has kept me warm on cool nights, dry in the rain and shielded from the sun. An all around fantastic hat. It’s been smashed in my backpack and keeps it’s shape.

    Dislikes: nothing

Likes: I just got down from the High Uintas with this hat. On my group's last day we woke up to stiff rain, wind, and cold, which lasted for about five hours as we hiked back to our pick-up point. The hat worked perfectly. I also had top-level rain gear, but the brim on this item gave me superior face coverage to keep water off of my glasses.

I also used it as a shade hat earlier in the week; for temps up to about 70 degrees F, its not too warm for this.

    Dislikes: No negatives.
