Product Highlights

A favorite among female AT thru-hikers and fast-and-light backpackers, the Osprey Aura 65 Women's pack combines durability and lightweight performance. A redesigned harness and adjustable hipbelt now provide even better comfort and fit.

Committed to providing all outdoor enthusiasts with optimal performance, Osprey equips its women's packs with gender-specific design features. Harnesses are cut wider through the collar bone area and have an ergonomic taper in the chest area. Offering a women's specific cant and a narrower cut, the hipbelts found on Osprey's women's packs also cater to female users.

Osprey's AirSpeed Suspension system equips the Aura 65 Women's pack with weight-carrying efficiency and breathability. A lightweight aluminum frame works in tandem with twin titanium struts and a tensioned backpanel to provide the ultimate in support, weight distribution, flexibility and comfort. A sliding sternum strap and load-lifter straps allow you to fine-tune fit with on-the-go adjustments. Accommodating backpackers of different heights, the Aura 65 Women's pack is available in your choice of sizes. The Small Aura 65 Women's pack fits torsos less than 18.5" in length and the Medium size is designed for torso lengths ranging from 18"-20.5".

To further ensure that the Aura 65 Women's pack fits like a glove, each hipbelt offers integrated adjustability that can extend the "wrap" of the supportive padding. This design allows for customized fit that ensures proper support and range of motion.

Designed to comfortably carry 35-50 pounds of gear, the Aura 65 Women's pack lends versatility for outings ranging from overnight trips to fast-moving, light-packing extended backpacking trips. The Small size offers 3783 cubic inches of storage capacity and the Medium Aura 65 Women's pack has a 3967 cubic inch capacity. The main packbag has full top access and a zippered divider between the main compartment and a separate front entry sleeping bag compartment allows for organization of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two compartments, you can unzip the divider and convert the Aura 65 Women's pack to a single, large compartment.

Dual front pockets are accessed through welded weather-resistant zippers. A welded, stretch woven nylon pocket on the front of the pack allows you to stash extra layers or other gear. A pocket located inside the floating lid of the Aura 65 Women's pack provides yet another organizational option. Side compression straps help you cinch down your load and also serve as lash points for additional gear. Stretch woven side pockets are the perfect place for stashing water bottles or other smaller items.

Other features found on the Aura 65 Women's pack include integrated trekking pole loops and removable straps located in front of the sleeping bag compartment that securely stow sleeping pads. An internal lined sleeve and dual exit ports combine to make the Aura 65 Women's pack hydration compatible. Zippered mesh pockets on the hipbelt keep snacks and essential items in easy reach.

Constructed of lightweight, durable 210D high tenacity twill nylon and 100D high tenacity mini-ripstop nylon, the Osprey Aura 65 Women's pack is available in your choice of colors.

Likes: Great color, sleek and compact design, and a great suspension and airflow chamber. Pack hugs the bag perfectly and the small fits a 5 foot petite woman well.

    Dislikes: nothing.

Likes: I read reviews for months before coming to the conclusion to buy this pack. Backcountry Edge had it on sale and I am so glad that I went ahead and bought it. It is so comfortable and lightweight. Check out the review here:

Likes: I have yet to use my Osprey aura 65, but I have walked around with it a bit and can say that I am excited to use it on my upcoming trip. I spent a lot of time researching different packs to get and was finally sold on this one. The design overall is great. I spent years with an older Osprey atmos 50 (which is the mens version of this pack) before this one and I'm glad I decided on them again. I am 5'5" and around 125lbs and after getting myself fitted at an outdoor store, I went with the small, which fits well. There are a lot of nooks and crannies in this pack, which will come in handy for sure. Overall, I'm really happy with this pack and I am sure I will be using it for many years.

Dislikes: The only thing that really make me stop and think are the hip pockets. They are set back a bit far on the waist and are slightly awkward to get into, but I suppose it will just take some getting used to. Also, I wish they had more color options for this pack.

  • . Harwood MD

Likes: Comfort - even after backpacking over a three day holiday weekend the backpack was still comfortable.

Dislikes: Did not have a detachable day pack.

  • . Zanesville OH

Likes: Love the fit and how it sits on my body. This is my first hiking backpack and i was easily able to adjust it to my shape. It seems like it could also be very easy to adjust while the pack is being worn. The back feels great and the top of the pack is super roomy. I really love it and can't wait to use it!!!

Dislikes: The hip pockets seem to be so far back that I can't unzip them all the way while my pack is on. The drawstring for the main compartment was hard to figure out at first and seemed very hard to open. But after a while of opening and closing it it seems to have loosened up a bit.

Likes: I love that it is very lightweight for its capacity and comfort. The trekking pole holders are the best. I didn't even think I would care about them but when going on a jaunt with two dogs tangling themselves on leashes, it was really nice to be able to stow my poles without taking off the pack. The outside pockets are great for storing wet gear. I also appreciate the hip belt pockets for my small camera--easy access, and small amounts of snacks.

Dislikes: The only reason I did not give 4 stars is the waterbottle side pockets are useless for access to waterbottles on the go. The pockets are too far back to access and way too tight to get a water bottle in or out even if I could reach it. What I am going to do instead is put a small hydration bladder in the pocket and thread the hose up to the clip on the shoulder pad. (I don't like using hydration bladders when backpacking--too much of a pain to refill bladder)

Likes: This is a high quality backpack with many useful features. Very comfortable fit and lots of organization. Easy access from top or bottom. The eggplant color is very pretty, and I like that its different from the standard color choices. This bag has so many great features to be as lightweight as it is. I am also happy to know that it has a lifetime guarantee. I got a great price from Backcountry Edge with fast free delivery. Extremely happy with my purchase.

Dislikes: When I was shopping for a pack, I had my wish list of features for my dream bag, this pack met all except one. I was hoping to find a pack that had all the organization and access that this one does with an external hydration option. But I am so happy with everything else about this bag the internal hydration sleeve became a non issue.

Likes: Second osprey pack (this one is for my girlfriend) and it's just as great as mine. She has tried on several other packs and none of them seem to fit as well as the Aura did. The mesh back panel has been son nice during the rainy/humid summer in North GA. She loves the color and the storage available.

Dislikes: Everything is great about this pack.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Fantastic Fit and light weight for my 5'7" frame. Well organized pockets. You will be surprised how comfortable this pack is even with a lot of weight.

    Dislikes: Nothing

  • Eric B. Battle Ground WA

Likes: Bought this pack as a gift for my girlfriend. She loves it. It has lots of room in the main compartment and plenty of outside pockets and straps for stowing/lashing gear.

    Dislikes: nothing

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Perfect size, color, and durability. Able to compartmentalize my pack to easily access certain items during the hike. There is a day pack on top, which I have not used yet, but it also makes it very easy to pack easy to access items.

Dislikes: I put my camera in the front strap pocket and it fits fine. The only problem is that once I take the camera out, the curve of the strap makes it a bit hard to put my camera back in...Not a big deal, I just have to stop and adjust, but it was annoying the first time.
