Product Highlights

The Osprey Ariel 65 Women's internal frame backpack strikes an excellent balance between lightweight design and load-bearing performance. Despite weighing less than 4 pounds, the Ariel 65 Women's pack provides female backpackers with 3600+ cubic inches of storage capacity while comfortably carrying up to 60 pounds!

Committed to providing all outdoor enthusiasts with optimal performance, Osprey equips its women's packs with gender-specific design features. Harnesses are cut wider through the collar bone area and have an ergonomic taper in the chest area. Offering a women's specific cant and a narrower cut, the hipbelts found on Osprey's women's packs also cater to female users.

Constantly striving to enhance comfort and performance, Osprey has equipped the Ariel 65 Women’s pack with a LightWire aluminum alloy peripheral frame and a recycled HDPE framesheet. A single vertical aluminum stay further bolsters the pack’s load-bearing capability. This design ensures your balance by effectively distributing weight. A textured, foam Airscape backpanel and IsoForm harness maximize comfort and help to reduce heat build-up between your back and the pack. Further enhancing fit, the revolutionary IsoForm CM hipbelt utilizes an ErgoPull closure that draws tension along the top and the bottom of the belt. A sliding sternum strap and load-lifter straps allow you to fine-tune fit with on-the-go adjustments. Each of three available sizes of the Ariel 65 Women’s pack offers torso adjustability. The XSmall accommodates torsos less than 16" in length, the Medium accommodates torso lengths ranging from 18"-20.5" and the Large is designed for torsos measuring 20"-22.5".

To further guarantee that the Ariel 65 Women’s pack fits like a glove, Osprey offers swappable women’s-specific IsoForm CM hipbelts and shoulder harnesses. The WXS hipbelt fits waists smaller than 28", the WS fits waists ranging from 27"-31", the WM hipbelt fits waists ranging from 30"-34" and the WL hipbelt is designed for waist sizes ranging from 33"-37". The IsoForm CM harness is available in four sizes. Each size of the harness provides a vertical adjustability of 2"-3". NOTE: For most women, the shoulder harness size should match the selected pack size, but for those with wider or narrower shoulders, choose one size up or down for the best fit.

The Ariel 65 Women’s pack has a large top-loading packbag, but a sleeping bag compartment also offers lower, front access. Additionally, a zipper on the front of the pack allows quick access to the main packbag. A large front pocket utilizes welded stretch woven Nylon fabric to serve as a convenient storage spot for layers of clothing or other gear. Elastic side pockets are the perfect place for stashing water bottles or other smaller items. Integrated hipbelt pockets provide a spot to keep essentials close at hand. Side compression straps enable you to cinch down your pack to keep contents safely and securely in place and also double as lash points for additional gear. Buckled straps that pass over the front of the packbag are designed to further enhance the compressibility of the Ariel 65 Women’s pack and provide yet another place to lash gear.

Other features found on the Ariel 65 Women’s pack include integrated trekking pole loops and a top lid that is removable for use as a lumbar pack. Removable straps located in front of the sleeping bag compartment securely stow sleeping pads. An external sleeve tucked behind the Airscape backpanel makes the Ariel 65 Women’s pack hydration system (sold separately) compatible without eating into any internal capacity.

The Osprey Ariel 65 Women’s internal frame backpack is available in your choice of size and color options.

Likes: This is a great backpack, I was able to pack my tent, fly, sleeping pad, small stove, fuel, food and clothing inside the backpack, there was room for more but this was just a two day trip. The bottom sleeping bag compartment allows for a small sleeping bag and extra pair of light weight shoes, and tent stakes. I was able to carry two 1 liter bottle in the side mesh pockets, tent poles I attached to the outside of the pack. I really like the trekking pole feature.

Dislikes: Area for hydration bladder, when the pack is full, it is difficult to place a full bladder in the pack, not impossible but difficult. It is best to put the full bladder, (type with hard back) in the pack before packing the backpack.

Likes: I love this backpack! very comfortable and easy to customize to your own body. I would definitely recommend it!

    Dislikes: pricy

  • . Los Osos CA

Likes: Love the fit, the lightness and the quality of workmanship. Bought this pack for my girlfriend so she wouldn't have to borrow or rent anymore. She loves it. Got a small harness and belt. She is 5'3, 125-130# and the fit is perfect. Wishing I had an Osprey now instead of my Baltoro.

Dislikes: The local dealer has the fit oven for the moldable hipbelt, and they want $35 just to heat up the belt so she can custom mold it.... Lame!

Likes: This is my wifes bag. She loves it. It too is highly adjustable and comfortable. Padding around the shoulder straps and belt is great.

    Dislikes: No complaints
