New for 2008! Built to offer young backpackers high-performance rarely found in junior packs, the Osprey Ace 48 Youth borrows the design features found throughout Osprey's renowned pack line. With adjustability for optimal fit, the 2900 cubic inch capacity Ace 48 Youth accommodates the growth of your young adventurer.

A lightweight peripheral aluminum frame combines with a rigid foam framesheet to grant the Ace 48 Youth excellent stability and load-bearing capability. A molded AirScape foam backpanel provides cushioning and breathability for maximum on-trail comfort. Integrated adjustability covers a torso fit range of 14"-20". An EVA foam harness, a padded hipbelt, an adjustable sternum strap and load-lifter straps further enhance fit and aid in load distribution. Side and bottom compression straps allow you to cinch down your load for better stability and maneuverability.

The large main compartment of the Ace 48 Youth offers top-loading access. A full-coverage lid protects the packbag and houses two organizational pockets for smaller gear items. A large zippered front pocket and stretch nylon mesh pockets on the side and front of the Ace 48 Youth provide additional storage options. A zippered compartment at the bottom of the packbag is designed to provide internal storage for a sleeping bag. The retractable construction of the compartment allows you to clear space if you prefer to lash your sleeping bag to the outside of your pack via the integrated bottom compression straps.

Other features on the Ace 48 Youth include dual daisy-chain attachment points, an ice-axe attachment loop, zippered hipbelt pockets and a handy mesh pocket on the shoulder harness. A lined internal sleeve and exit port make the Ace 48 Youthpack hydration compatible. Exterior mesh pockets make it easy to grab water bottles while on the move. A built-in raincover allows you to confidently venture out into the elements with full-coverage protection for your pack.
