Designed for lightweight backpacking trips, the Optimus Crux stove is so compact that it nestles in the recess beneath a fuel canister! Weighing a mere 3.3 ounces, this canister stove has a foldable burner head that provides a solid resting place for pots and pans, but folds neatly away for easy and efficient storage.

Made of durable, stainless materials, the Crux's 2 inch-diameter burner effectively distributes heat, providing an even cooking surface for backcountry meals. Depending on altitude and temperature conditions, this tiny powerhouse can boil a quart of water in as little as 3 minutes! An integrated foldable burner control allows you to adjust the height of the Crux's flame without any fear of burning your hand.

Three ergonomic, serrated pot supports lend stability and accommodate most backpacking pots, pans and skillets. Folded out of the way, the pot supports tuck under the head of the burner, reducing the Crux, including its burner valve, to only 3.3" x 2.2" x 1.2". This packed size is so small that the Crux fits in the recess beneath your fuel canister. A unique "strap-over" stuff sack (included) actually lashes the Crux in place beneath your fuel!

The Optimus Crux requires the use of a canister of Optimus Gas (sold separately). A blend of 70% butane and 30% propane, Optimus Gas provides consistent, reliable 3-season backcountry performance. No priming or pumping is needed when using Optimus Gas canisters. An 8-ounce canister of Optimus Gas will provide up to 60 minutes of burn time at the highest maximum output.
