Product Highlights

Combining lightweight construction, rugged durability and insulation, the NEMO Zor XL self-inflating sleeping pad is well-designed for minimalist backpacking in all seasons. A full rectangular shape and dimensions of 76" x 25" x 1.0" offer a comfortable night's sleep without added weight and bulk.

Unlike other sleeping pads that use similar technology, the Zor XL uses vertical and horizontal cutouts to decrease the amount of heat that is lost through the pad. This combination of horizontal and vertical coring keeps the Zor XL's weight under a pound and its packed size to a minimum, while still providing insulation and self-inflation.

The self-inflating foam core makes the Zor XL incredibly easy to use. Simply unroll the pad and open the valve. Open-celled foam responds by soaking up air, similar to the way in which a sponge absorbs liquid. Once the Zor XL has had time to inflate, you can adjust firmness by manually adding or releasing air before re-tightening the valve.

Each Nemo Zor XL self-inflating sleeping pad includes a stuff sack, compression strap and repair kit.

Likes: The pad was extremely light weight and was very easy to inflate. The gel like strips on the bottom of the pad was great to prevent slipping around on a tent floor and the hardwood floor that I tried out the pad on. Material appears durable and should up well even though it is designed to be extremely lightweight. The pad was much less noisy than some similar light weight pads such as the thermarest neoair line. The XL version was very wide and I felt like I had a ton of room to move around.

Dislikes: The sleeping pad was not overly comfortable on a hardwoood floor and I did a lot of tossing and turning throughout the night. The pad kept me off the ground even when I was sleeping on my side but I was just never able to get comfortable. I was underwhelmed by the minimal self inflation that occurred even when I left the pad's nozzle open for over 10 minutes. Packing size was surprizingly large considering how thin the pad was and was approximately twice the size of a Big Agnes Q core SL. Comfort is very important to me so this pad did not meet my expectations but for the minimalist this pad may work very well.
