Product Highlights

The younger brother of the celebrated Morpho 2P, the NEMO Morpho 1P provides spacious functionality (30 sq ft) and an attractive packed size (10" x 7") for backpackers and touring bicyclists and motorcyclists. AirSupported Technology replaces traditional tent poles with innovative, inflatable Airbeams.

Measuring 44" at its widest point the Morpho 1P tapers to 24" at both the head and the feet to help keep weight (3 lb 5 oz) to a minimum. The expansive interior provides 30 square feet of interior space and a respectable 37" peak height. By stretching a full 119" in length, the interior of the Morpho 1P allows the integrated ExoFly front canopy to offer 7 square feet of protected exterior storage space. The fly can be rolled back and lashed in place to increase airflow in fair and warm weather.

NEMO's innovative AirSupported Technology eliminates the need for tent poles, replacing them with integrated low pressure inflatable tubes, commonly referred to as Airbeams. A pump is included to make inflation of the Airbeams quick-and-easy from inside or outside of the tent. Airbeams have been proven to exceed traditional poles in wind stability and pack down much smaller to take up less space in backpacks or panniers. The tubes are also easier and less expensive to repair than aluminum or carbon fiber poles.

The 40D OSMO ripstop nylon shell fabric is waterproof, breathable in varied climates, UV-resistant and will not sag when wet. Despite being lightweight, OSMO fabric is extremely durable and abrasion-resistant. High-tenacity 20D Sil-PU nylon is used for the ExoFly front canopy, providing lightweight, waterproof protection in front of the entry. All seams are tape-sealed to further protect the Morpho 1P from the elements.

The NEMO Morpho 1P includes a pump, watertight stuff sack, stakes and a repair kit.

Likes: Purchased for motorcycle touring/camping due to its packed size and weight. It's very easy to pitch: stake the ends and the sides, then inflate to air beams with the supplied foot pump. Takes two min to inflate and is very rigid. There are side guy points for very windy conditions but I expect I'll never need them. This is a single wall tent with a waterproof, breathable roof. The sides are PU coated. I've used it a couple of times now, and it's very spacious for one person. I can fit contents of both saddlebags and the tourpak in the tent with my sleeping pad and bag, with room to spare. Love the ventilation and the clear window.

Dislikes: I wish it was free-standing but not possible with the air beam technology, I guess. I knew this before I purchased and considering all the other benefits of this tent, it is a good compromise to make.

Likes: I was in the market for a roomier one person tent. The Morpho 1P seemed to fit the bill. Here are the PROS:
    - Good Ventilation
    - Roomy and Spacious
    - Easy and Fast Setup
    - Backcountry Edge had a great price.

Dislikes: - Tent is larger and heavier than I expected (hence the spaciousness)
    - Vestibule set up is a little odd.
    - Mesh door seems to have small snags throughout (no big deal unless I paid full price)
