New for 2009! The MSR Skinny Too is a roomy, lightweight backpacking shelter. Despite its single-wall design, the innovative, two-person Skinny Too boasts excellent breathability and versatility for varying conditions.
Built to accommodate two inhabitants, the Skinny Too offers 25 square feet of usable interior space. Twin lightweight aluminum poles grant tunnel-like structure to the Skinny Too and create a front vestibule that provides an additional 8.5 square feet of weather-protected storage space. MSR "Fast Clips" make it easy to attach the body of the Skinny Too to the tent poles. Dependable MSR Ultralight Needle Stakes are included to aid in securely pitching the non-freestanding Skinny Too.
The rainfly of the Skinny Too is constructed of durable, tenacious ripstop nylon with a 1500mm PU and silicone coating for complete weather protection. Though many single-wall tents offer little breathability, the Skinny Too employs a unique design to provide excellent cross ventilation. Protected beneath the rainfly, a mesh vent travels the length of the Skinny Too and allows airflow without exposing the interior of the tent to weather. A mesh panel at the back of the tent body can be covered in poor conditions or opened in balmy weather to increase airflow. Taped seams on the floor and rainfly further ensure that you stay dry inside the Skinny Too.
A compatible, custom-fit footprint, sold separately, can be used to fully protect the floor of the Skinny Too from moisture, sharp objects, mud and ground water.
