New for 2009! Always innovative, MSR unveils its lightest double-wall, solo backpacking tent, the Carbon Reflex 1. With carbon fiber poles, lightweight fabrics and a unique pole configuration, the Carbon Reflex 1’s trail weight is a mere 2 lb 4 oz!
The Carbon Reflex 1 provides 17 square feet of interior space and 37 inches of interior height. Carbon fiber poles offer ultra-lightweight performance. Dependable MSR Ultralight Needle Stakes are included to aid in securely pitching the non-freestanding Carbon Reflex 1. A sizeable front vestibule offers protected storage space and dry-entry to the tent body. A zipper on the interior of the tent body allows you to access a smaller rear vestibule.
Extensive mesh construction keeps weight to a minimum while maximizing ventilation. The Carbon Reflex 1 is extremely breathable which increases livability and combats the build-up of condensation on the interior of the tent. In warm, clear weather, you can tie-back the front door to allow even greater airflow.
The Carbon Reflex 1 employs taped seams on the floor and rainfly to prevent leaks. The stress points are reinforced to prevent tear-outs, and the guy lines (included) are reflective to help you find your way back to your tent in the dark.
For ounce-counting backpackers who prefer to travel as light as possible, the Carbon Reflex 1 rainfly can be used alone or in tandem with an optional footprint (sold separately), making the Carbon Reflex 1 a sub-two-pound minimalist shelter.
