Measuring only 7 inches long and 1-1/4 inch diameter, and weighing 3.5 oz (full kit 8 oz.) the MIOX Purifier is much lighter and smaller than portable filter units, and requires no pumping. While filters simply attempt to block water-borne pathogens by passing water through a fine-mesh screen, a purifier inactivates the pathogens, making a purifier the recommended solution for questionable water sources, especially where there has been heavy human activity.

The MIOX works by passing an electrical current through a mixture of salt and water, creating a powerful dose of mixed oxidants (MIOX), which is then added to untreated water, inactivating all viruses, bacteria, Giardia, and Cryptosporidium (which even iodine doesn't kill). And since the MIOX Purifier needs only common camera batteries and salt to operate, it's maintenance-free, delivering more water, more easily than any purifier ever before.

The MIOX Purifier Kit contains: MIOX Purifier, 1.5 oz. salt (enough to treat @53 gallons of water), 2-Lithium CR123 batteries, 50 test strips, instruction booklet, quick-reference card and a mesh/nylon stuff sack.
