New for 2008! Reflecting its continuing commitment to innovation, MSR unveils the HyperFlow Microfilter, a fast and efficient filter that utilizes Hollow Fiber technology. Lightweight and compact, the HyperFlow Microfilter is sure to appeal to even the most ounce-conscious backpackers.
The ground-breaking Hollow Fiber Technology used by the HyperFlow Microfilter enables it to efficiently and effectively filter up to 2.75 liters of water per minute! The ergonomic shape of the HyperFlow Microfilter makes it easy to pump and both pushes and pulls water, doubling the rate at which water pushes through the filtration "straws" housed in the filter cartridge. The 0.2 Micron cartridge is completely field maintainable and long lasting, effectively filtering up to 1000 liters of water before needing to be replaced!
NOTE: The HypeFlow Microfilter is effective against Protozoa, Bacteria and particulates. It is NOT effective against viruses.
A lengthy input hose attaches the HyperFlow Microfilter to its prefilter. The prefilter, with a flat, lightweight design, floats just below the surface of the water source and strains debris and particles through a fine mesh stainless steel screen. A length of output hose attaches the HyperFlow Microfilter to a Quick-Connect Bottle Adapter, allowing it to secure directly to any and all MSR hydration products, wide-mouthed Nalgene bottles or any other containers with 63mm threaded openings.
A maintenance kit (sold separately) is available to keep the HyperFlow Microfilter functioning at its optimal efficiency.
