New for 2008! The freestanding MSR Elbow Room 3 offers backpacking performance in a camping tent. A unique pole configuration provides sturdiness and enhances livability. Despite its technical features, this 3-person tent is easy to put up.

With 40 square feet of interior space, the Elbow Room 3 houses up to three campers. MSR's patented BowFrame pole geometry lends taut structure to the Elbow Room 3, increasing the verticality of the walls and enhancing the strength of the tent. By pulling the tent walls away from the center of the tent, this design maximizes the livability of the Elbow Room 3's interior. In addition, the oval design creates an awning-style protection above the doors of the Elbow Room 3. Lightweight DAC aluminum poles provide reliable support. A combination of lightweight clips and MSR's FastFeed pole sleeves make it quick and easy to erect the tent. Dual vestibules offer a combined 15 square feet of additional protected storage space.

Mesh panels on the doors and ceiling of the Elbow Room 3 offer ventilation. In addition to providing breathability, the mesh construction increases livability by combating the build-up of condensation on the interior of the Elbow Room 3. In warm, clear weather, you can tie-back the exterior doors to allow even greater airflow. MSR's stay-dry design prevents roof run-off from dripping into the interior of the tent when the fly is open.

All of the seams on the floor and rainfly of the Elbow Room 3 are tape sealed to prevent leaks. The "tub" design of the floor ensures that the interior of the Elbow Room 3 remains dry and warm. A custom-fit footprint (sold separately) is available to further protect the floor of your MSR Elbow Room 3 from sharp objects, such as rocks and pine needles.
