Product Highlights
Optimized for demanding winter ascent, MSR Denali Ascent snowshoes are a more technical variation on MSR's time-tested Denali Classic snowshoes. These lightweight, technical snowshoes offer incredible performance on ice and snow-covered landscapes. MSR 4" and 8" Flotation Tails (sold separately) allow the Denali Ascent to be customized for maximum flotation in varying snow bases.
On steep terrain, MSR's Televator heel lifters can be flipped up to support the heels of the Denali Ascent snowshoes making climbing easier and reducing calf fatigue. Steel traction bars, crampons and molded braking bars in the deck provide great traction, while the no-hassle four strap bindings provide secure attachment and are large enough to accept snowboarding or ski boots.
The modular design of the Denali Ascent snowshoes allows you to add optional MSR Modular Flotation Tails (sold separately) to fine-tune your shoes for varied snow conditions. MSR Denali Ascent snowshoes provide plenty of flotation for users of nearly all weight ranges when snowshoeing on firm snow or established snowshoe trails. If you'll be snowshoeing in soft snow or soft snow deeper than 30 inches, you may want to add MSR Modular Flotation Tails for additional flotation. See the guidelines below for MSR's recommendations for your total weight (includes body weight, clothing and pack weight):
90-125 lbs: add 4 inch tails for soft snow deeper than 30 inches
125-175 lbs: add 4 inch tails for soft snow
175-225 lbs: add 4 inch tails for soft snow up to 30 inches deep and 8 inch tails for soft snow deeper than 30 inches
225+ lbs: add 8 inch tails for soft snow
