The 3173 cubic inch Mountainsmith Youth Pursuit is an internal frame backpack built with the needs of younger hikers in mind. The torso length of the Youth Pursuit can be adjusted as your youth grows. So, one pack will serve them well for several years. With plenty of volume for a youth on a weekend or multi-day backpacking trip, the Youth Pursuit provides both comfort and organization. The suspension system is fully adjustable for torso lengths from 13-17 inches. The S-curve foam shoulder straps and dual-density foam waistbelt add an extra measure of carrying comfort. Mountainsmith designed the Youth Pursuit suspension to drive weight to the hips. Twin 6061 T6 aluminum stays transfer pack loads onto the waistbelt. The dual density waistbelt is a full 5.75" at its widest point. Dual density foam uses softer foam up close to the body to gently conform to the contours of your hips, with firmer foam behind to support the pack weight and provide cushioning under load. The suspension is wrapped in an airmesh fabric that wicks moisture, keeping you cooler and dryer. Inside, there's a hydration reservoir pocket with dual exit ports. On the outside, there's mesh water bottle pockets on each side. The Youth Pursuit has zippered side pockets and a zippered front pocket with key hook, allowing you to keep your gear organized and accessible. There's also a separate sleeping bag compartment. The side pockets have a pass-behind feature to accommodate longer tent or trekking poles. Side and bottom compression straps allow the load to be cinched up for better stability and maneuverability in off-trail situations. The Youth Pursuit weighs 3 lb. 9 oz. and is available in your choice of colors.
