Product Highlights
Updated for 2008! The 3173 cubic inch Mountainsmith Youth Pursuit is an internal frame backpack built to address the needs of younger hikers. Adjustability in the suspension and shoulder straps allows the Youth Pursuit to accommodate the growth of your young adventurer.
Twin aluminum stays transfer the weight of the Youth Pursuit from the wearer's back and shoulders onto the dual-density waistbelt. Firm foam supports the pack weight and provides cushioning under the load while softer foam, up close to the body, gently conforms to the contours of your hips. Wrapped in an airmesh fabric that wicks moisture, keeping you cool and dry on the trail, the Youth Pursuit's suspension system is adjustable fit torso lengths from 13-17 inches in length. Padded shoulder straps and an adjustable sternum strap further enhance fit and comfort. Side and bottom compression straps allow you to cinch down your load for better stability and maneuverability.
A detachable divider between the Youth Pursuit's top loading main compartment and front entry sleeping bag compartment allows for organization and separation of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two compartments, you can disconnect the divider and convert the Youth Pursuit to a single, large compartment. The top lid houses a pocket for further storage and large side pockets enable you to organize gear and provide quick and easy access to contents. An additional front, zippered pocket offers another spot to stash gear.
Other features on the Youth Pursuit include a cord-locked elastic attachment system and webbed daisy-chain attachment points. An internal lined pocket with dual exit ports makes the Youth Pursuit hydration compatible. Exterior mesh pockets make it easy to grab water bottles while on the move. Providing valuable assistance in emergency situations, the buckle on the sternum strap doubles as a safety whistle.
The Mountainsmith Youth Pursuit is available in your choice of Lotus Blue and Pinon Green color options.
