Product Highlights

The Mountainsmith Dog Backpack has loads of features that both you and your active dog will appreciate. The pack is comfortable for your dog, and offers you great organization for leashes, bowls and other gear.

The Mountainsmith Dog Pack features fleece lined straps and buckles to prevent chafing on your dog's belly and to deliver a more comfortable fit for your four-legged friend. Straps are independently adjustable at the chest, shoulders and hips to customize the fit and ensure that the pack remains stable.

The right saddle bag of the Dog Pack features a zippered main compartment, with a smaller zippered inner compartment to help you stay organized. On the left side, there's another large zippered compartment and a Velcro strapped mesh pocket for items you want to keep handy. On top is a bungee strap to hold additional items. A woven top handle makes it easy to carry the Dog Pack while not on your dog and serves as a convenient grab point for firmly but gently halting your dog or helping it over trail obstacles. An integrated D-ring attachment point on the harness is designed to accommodate leashes.

The Mountainsmith Dog Pack is available in your choice of three sizes.

Sizes available: Large, Medium, Small

Likes: Light, decent size pockets, easy to attach leash to.

Dislikes: I put the pack on my beagle/ lab mix. The strap that covers the chest area seemed to somehwat restrict the leg movements. (Imagine a backpack shoulder strap coming from the outside of your arm towards your chest travelling over your armpit area). I tried adjusting it multiple times but could never get it to not cover the front of her shoulder area. For short hike probably not an issue, but it appears to be a potential hot spot area for pooches that wear these alot. That being said since dogs come in sooooooo many shapes and sizes it may just be my dog's shape that is a problem. For the price I am happy with the product and if it fit better over the legs would have given it 4-5 stars.

Likes: The pack fit my dog (~85lb lab) good. The straps allow for adequate adjustment of the pack. I was able to fit his food, snacks, a 1L nalgene, water dish and cable in the pack. Used only once...seems good so far.

Dislikes: The ring on the back of the pack that you attach your leash to is plastic. This broke almost instantly. There is a lot of extra webbing hanging off of the pack when everything is tightened up (could be trimmed).

    Dislikes: Nothing.

Likes: This pack is great. I have a 80 lb Boxer and bought the medium. It fit great. The pockets are good size. My dog carried his own food, water, and any other small items that I just didnt have room for. Good job Mountain Smith.

Dislikes: I wish the pack was water proof... but really cant complain.
