Product Highlights
Continuing to lend innovation to the field of lumbar packs, Mountainsmith has introduced the Day Recycled, an eco-friendly redesign of Mountainsmith's classic Day lumbar pack. Loaded with the same great features found on the original Day lumbar pack, the Day Recycled utilizes a ground-breaking fabric made entirely of 100% recycled plastic beverage bottles.
The waistbelt of the Day Recycled has a wide wrap-around style and incorporates Mountainsmith's triangulated straps of the patented Delta Compression System to shift weight into the lumbar region for a stable, evenly distributed load. Lined with an elastic mesh fabric, the foam-padded waistbelt provides more support than comparable lumbar packs and remains comfortable to wear even on hot days.
Larger than traditional lumbar packs, the Day Recycled has a full 854 cubic inches of carrying capacity. Unlike full-blown daypacks, the Day Recycled weighs a mere 1 lb. 7 oz. and is compact enough that your movements remain uninhibited.
Featuring three separate compartments and two additional storage pockets, the Day Recycled offers organizational options. A zippered pocket on the inside of the main compartment provides a hideaway for keys, coins and other valuables. Adjustable mesh side pockets feature a bungee closure and can accommodate 32 oz. water bottles. A bungee attachment on the front of the Day Recycled allows you to carry a jacket, sweatshirt or additional gear.
With varied carrying options, the versatile Day Recycled can also be used as a shoulder bag, a briefcase or as an add-on pocket for a full-size backpack. Optional Mountainsmith Strapettes (sold separately) can be employed to serve as shoulder straps and provide extra support when heavy loads are being carried in the Day Recycled.
The Mountainsmith Day Recycled is available in your choice of color options.
Colors available: Charcoal, Heritage Black, Heritage Cobalt, Heritage Red, Lotus Blue, Pinon Green, Teal

I love this daypack. In fact, it has just enough room for a couple day's worth of items. The hidden pocket in the back, the internal zip pocket, and two bottle holders on the side make it great for stuffing different things. The reflectors on the stitching and across the shoulder rest are highly visible at night. The lifetime guarantee is nice. Extremely comfortable, either on shoulder or around waist.
Dislikes:
One problem, when you load it with too many heavy things like books, one of my straps ripped out of the stitching. It's not that bad of a problem though, all you have to do is send it in and they repair it free of charge.

I like the ability to twist the pack forward to remove the contents. I've added velcro to the inside to convert to a camera bag. I like the versatility of also having a shoulder and a hand bag.
Dislikes:
Sometimes it's a little awkward to position the pack as a fanny pack.

Needs more small pockets inside for organization.
