Product Highlights

Perfect for extended backpacking trips, the classic Mountainsmith Circuit 3.0 internal frame backpack offers more than 5000 cubic inches of storage space. The Circuit 3.0 delivers durability and an array of features at a budget-friendly price.

Utilizing Mountainsmith's patented Load Dispersion Technology (LDT) suspension system, the Circuit 3.0 is designed to comfortably haul heavy loads. Twin aluminum stays cross in an "X"-pattern, efficiently distributing weight, providing better load control and increasing flexibility by creating a central pivot point. The suspension is wrapped in an airmesh fabric that wicks moisture. The Circuit 3.0's suspension is adjustable to fit a torso range of 18-22". A dual density waistbelt is reinforced with supportive plastic. Firm foam supports pack weight and provides cushioning under the load while softer foam nestles close to the body, conforming to the contours of your hips. Adjustable shoulder straps, load-lifter straps and an adjustable sternum strap further enhance fit and comfort. Side and bottom compression straps allow you to cinch down your load for better stability and maneuverability.

The Circuit 3.0 is perfect for the backpacker who considers organization and pack access a priority. A detachable divider between the top loading main compartment and front entry sleeping bag compartment allows for organization and separation of wet and dry gear. When hauling longer items or in need of access between the two compartments, you can disconnect the divider and convert the Circuit 3.0 to a single, large compartment. The top lid houses a pocket for further storage. Large side pockets enable you to organize gear and provide quick and easy access to contents. An additional front, zippered compartment features internal organization sleeves and a fleece-lined optics pocket.

Other features on the Circuit 3.0 include a spindrift collar for full protection of pack contents and trekking pole and ice axe attachment points. An internal lined pocket with dual exit ports makes the Circuit 3.0 hydration compatible. Exterior mesh pockets make it easy to grab water bottles while on the move.

Likes: I bought the pack to use on extended backpacking trips. Looked at a lot of packs and thought this had the best combination of price and features. So far, I like the pack and I'm anxious for the chance to give it a good workout. The pack is well built and has all the features you find on packs that are 3 times the price. The shoulder straps are very well padded and the whole pack is nicely adjustable. You will be hard pressed to find more bag for your buck than this.

Likes: This pack is very big. Also very comfortable due to lots of padding. I like that the sleeping bag compartment can be opened up so it is one big compartment. Plenty of space, I am using it in Philmont this summer.

    Dislikes: Nothing

Likes: Very nice large pack. This is a hard deal to beat right now for how much bag you get for the price. As you would suspect with Mountainsmith very high quality and well built. I have used the bad once so far and was very comfortable to have on with about 50lb of gear on a 5 mile round trip.

    Dislikes: Nothing so far.

Likes: The pack fits well and is highly adjustable; even mid-hike. The capacity of the bag is adequate for a weekend of hiking where I'll be carrying the bulk of the gear and my little one will be carrying her bag and stuffed bear. My initial hike with it was 4ish miles and the pack was comfortable and I got to discover the features I didn't realize, like the hydration pouch. Looking forward to longer and more technical hikes in the future.

Dislikes: The side gear pockets are a little hard to access on the go but I asking for help or stopping solves that readily.
