Great backpack so far. Really roomy, but not overly bulky. I like the sleeping bag straps on the bottom as well. All together a great deal.
Dislikes:
Nothing so far.

I like all of the pockets that makes it easy to be organized. detachable lumbar bag is great for short hikes. great price! has cinch straps that make it easy to tighten, and it's made from recycled material!
Dislikes:
it has a very padded waist belt, which is nice, but it's almost too big for me on the waist, if there was more strap to tighten and slightly less length in the padding, that would be nice.

I give the pack four stars--for the price, it can't be beat. It's a good size for non-ultralight long weekends. It carries great, cinches down well, and the curve of the frame allows for adequate back ventilation. The pass-through exterior pockets are perfect for tent poles, etc. The only problem was that some of the stitching near the main compartment drawstring grommet popped; maybe I got a dud, maybe Mountainsmith could beef up that stitching a bit.
Either way, the fifth star goes to Backcountry Edge: they took the pack back, after I used it (within their 60 day return period), and sent me a brand new pack in less than a week, no questions asked, and no charge for shipping.
Dislikes:
Stitching around main compartment drawcord may be a little weak.

This backpack is the perfect size for weekend backpacking. I believe that this pack may be able to be extended for week use if you don't have to carry food in it (you combine all the group food in one pack). This bag is very affordable too which is great for a broke college student like me. The quality of this pack is very good. Good stitching, padding, zippers, frame, and the straps aren't made of cheap material like you see in a lot of backpacks. It's got plenty of outside pockets to put stuff like snacks, cameras, first aid kit, rain coat and has lots of room inside the pack as well. The pass-through slots are also great for tent poles and such. Overall I rate this bag as excellent!
Dislikes:
The map pocket with the waterproof plastic pocket is kind off cool but waterproof-ness factor is kind of pointless since the plastic is only one side of the pocket. An additional set of straps to tie stuff in would be nice too. Overall no big complaints though, still an excellent pack!
