Weighing 2 pounds, 4.5 ounces, the Boreas 40 Degree is insulated with compressible, MountainLoft Hollowfiber synthetic fill. Though still not as compressible as natural down fill, breathable and fast-drying MountainLoft, unlike down fill, is water-resistant and continues to provide warmth even when wet. This is particularly important if you encounter wet weather or humid climates.
Quilted construction and a differential cut for optimal loft help eliminate cold spots, keeping outside air from reaching the interior of the Boreas 40 Degree. This type of quilt construction is durable and maintains its shape and structure even after many uses. A draft tube behind the calf-length, two-way locking zipper and a insulated hood further enhance the thermal efficiency of the Boreas 40 Degree bag.
The Mountainsmith Boreas 40 Degree sleeping bag is available in a single length that fits up to 6' 6". Each Boreas 40 Degree bag includes a compression stuff sack and a cotton storage sack.
