Product Highlights

The rugged Mountainsmith Apex 100 internal frame backpack offers over 7000 cubic inches of storage space. Load-carrying capability and organizational features combine to make the Apex 100 an ideal option for extended backpacking trips.

Utilizing a Parallel Y-Frame adjustable suspension, the Apex 100 is designed to comfortably haul heavy loads by efficiently distributing weight, providing better load control and increasing flexibility. A dual-density, compression-molded backpanel is channeled to allow air to circulate, keeping your back cool and dry while in the backcountry. Fit is adjustable to accommodate torsos ranging from 17"-22" in length. A dual density waistbelt supports weight and provides cushioning while conforming to the contours of your hips. Adjustable shoulder straps, load-lifter straps and an adjustable sternum strap further enhance fit and comfort. Side and bottom compression straps allow you to cinch down your load for better stability and maneuverability.

The large top-accessed packbag of the Apex 100 offers a standard capacity of 6100 cubic inches and an integrated spindrift collars expands usable capacity to a full 7078 cubic inches. The height of the Apex 100's top lid can be adjusted to accommodate the expanded collar. The lid can even be detached entirely for use as a lumbar pack or shoulder sling. A vertical zipper on the front of the Apex 100 enables you to quickly put hands on contents without having to open the top lid. A separate sleeping bag compartment can be accessed through a zipper on the front of the packbag. This compartment is separated from the main packbag by an internal divider that can be unzipped to convert the interior of the Apex 100 to a single, oversized compartment. Large zippered side pockets serve as additional gear storage options.

Other features on the Apex 100 include trekking pole mounts, ice axe loops and daisy chain gear attachment points. An internal lined pocket and drinking tube exit port makes the Apex 100 hydration system (sold separately) compatible. External canted mesh pockets safely stow water bottles and provide convenient on-the-go access.

Likes: The features of this pack almost seem endless. It was very easy to dial in the fit of the pack which felt very nice on the trail. With 100liters to work with, the compression straps let you take this pack on shorter trips without being overkill on size, however, on the longer treks you can carry plenty of food and extra warm/dry gear.

    Dislikes: Nothing.
