Product Highlights
Yet another example of cutting-edge Mountain Hardwear technology, the innovative single-hub pole design of the Mountain Hardwear Viperine 3 creates a three-season backpacking tent with exceptional roominess. The verticality achieved by this pole construction allows the walls of the Viperine 3 to stand erect, maximizing the usability of the interior of the tent. Mountain Hardwear's ground-breaking construction lends freestanding structure to the Viperine 3 and helps to increase durability and resistance to poor conditions. Clip construction makes it easy to connect the fabric body of the Viperine 3 to the lightweight Atlas 7001 aluminum single-hub pole. Mountain Hardwear further ensures performance with its patented Guaranteed Watertight Construction. The fully-taped seams and welded construction of each model of Mountain Hardwear tent are tested in a custom-made "rain room" which subjects the tent to 1200 inches of wind-driven rain over the course of 24 hours. The Viperine 3 offers 43 sq. ft. of usable interior space. A vestibule provides nearly 14 sq. feet of additional sheltered space for storing gear or wet, muddy boots. No-See-Um netting in the large, zippered front door of the Viperine 3 improves ventilation, combating the build-up of condensation. An integrated rainfly window provides a view to the outside and increases livability, especially on dreary days when you're forced to spend the day inside your tent. Reflective highlights and guy out loops provide visibility for those times when you need to set up after dark. The 6 lb. 15 oz. packed weight of the Mountain Hardwear Viperine 3 is easily shared between three backpackers. For faster, lighter travel in warm weather conditions, you can attach the compatible, custom-fit footprint (sold separately) to the tent fly, eliminating the tent body, and reducing the packed weight of the Viperine 3 to just over 5 pounds.
