Designed for backpackers who need a lightweight tent but don't want to sacrifice performance, the Mountain Hardwear Skyledge 2.1 offers durable, quality construction at a light packed weight. Compact and breathable, the Skyledge 2.1 draws upon tested Mountain Hardwear technology to perform with lightweight efficiency in varied 3-season conditions.
Mountain Hardwear's innovative construction lends freestanding structure to the Skyledge 2.1 and helps to increase durability and resistance to poor conditions. Non-stretch polymer reinforced fabric is stitched into the roof of the tent body and, when clipped to the twin, lightweight Atlas UL poles, provides weight-bearing strength and stability even in windy conditions. Mountain Hardwear further ensures performance with its patented Guaranteed Watertight Construction. The fully-taped seams and welded construction of each model of Mountain Hardwear tent are tested in a custom-made "rain room" which subjects the tent to 1200 inches of wind-driven rain over the course of 24 hours.
The Skyledge 2.1's streamlined 28 sq. ft. of usable interior space offers ample room for single backpackers or a cozy fit for two. Separate side doors and dual vestibules increase livability and provide 22 sq. feet of additional sheltered space for storing gear or wet, muddy boots. Made almost entirely of No-See-Um netting, the body of the Skyledge 2.1 offers maximum ventilation, combating the build-up of condensation. Reflective highlights and guy out loops provide visibility for those times when you need to set up after dark.
The extensive use of lightweight materials in the tent body, floor, fly, poles and buckles keeps the packed weight of the Mountain Hardwear Skyledge 2.1 at 4 lb. 4 oz. When you want to travel even lighter, you can attach the compatible, custom-fit footprint (sold separately) to the tent fly, eliminating the tent body, and reducing the packed weight of the Skyledge 2.1 to a mere 3 pounds! This configuration is ideal for ultra-light, warm-weather backpacking.
