Updated for 2009! Roomy and extremely sturdy, the Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 2 is ready-made for two-person, three-season backpacking or camping. The Light Wedge 2 relies on time-tested Mountain Hardwear design features and weatherproof construction to tackle varied climates and demanding conditions.
Clip construction makes it easy to connect the fabric body of the Light Wedge 2 to the lightweight Atlas 7001 aluminum poles. An integrated Tension Shelf bolsters the strength of the Light Wedge 2's vestibule, increases headroom and doubles as an interior storage space. Mountain Hardwear further ensures performance with its Guaranteed Watertight Construction. The fully-taped seams and welded construction of each model of Mountain Hardwear tent are tested in a custom-made "rain room" which subjects the tent to 1200 inches of wind-driven rain over the course of 24 hours.
The Light Wedge 2 offers 35 square feet of usable interior space. A vestibule in front of the large, zippered D-shape door provides 8.6 square feet of additional sheltered space for storing gear or wet, muddy boots.
Extensive mesh construction in the door and walls of the Light Wedge 2 combats the build-up of condensation and offer maximum ventilation. An integrated rainfly window provides a view to the outside and increases livability, especially on dreary days when you're forced to spend the day inside your tent. Reflective highlights and guy out loops provide visibility for those times when you need to set up after dark.
The Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 2 weighs 4 pounds 14 ounces, but for faster, lighter travel in warm weather conditions, you can attach the compatible, custom-fit footprint (sold-separately) to the tent fly, leave the tent body at home, and reduce the packed weight of the Light Wedge 2 to just 3 pounds 11 ounces.
