Mountain Hardwear's Dry.Q Elite air-permeable membrane allows air, not just moisture, to pass through the fabric. This technology gives the Kepler Jacket an "always-on" air flow that encourages breathability before your body overheats. The exterior fabric is made from fully waterproof/breathable twill soft shell with rebar rip stop panels for reinforcement in areas that see high abrasion, the Kepler Jacket excels in the rough conditions served up in alpine climbing, ice climbing and off-trail winter hikes and backcountry snowshoeing and skiing.
The inside of the jacket is lined with a lightweight, soft wicking layer that slides well over insulated garments (sold separately) and pulls moisture away from the skin or inner layers to help keep you drier. A fully adjustable, helmet compatible hood with a stiffened brim can be positioned for excellent protection in windy snow or rain and the chin guard is lined with a micro-chamois to prevent chaffing when the hood is fully zipped up. All zippers on the pockets and pit zips use water resistant zippers for better protection in wet weather.
Other features of the Kepler Jacket include integrated pit zips, two zippered hand warmer pockets, one zippered chest pocket and one internal zip pocket for items that need to stay dry and warm like a cell phone or camera. The adjustable velcro cuffs also have a soft inner cuff that helps seal off the area of skin between your glove and your wrist. An asymmetrical cut offers better protection over the back of the wrist. Dual drawcord hems can be adjusted to keep out wind or to improve ventilation.
