Product Highlights
Updated for 2009! Drawing on the technology used throughout Mountain Hardwear's technical backpacking tent line, the Casa 4 boasts high-performance features not always found on camping tents. Whether used as a base camp or for family camping trips, the Casa 4 combines strength, ventilation, head room and to maximize livability for up to 4 inhabitants.
Clip construction makes it easy to connect the fabric body of the Casa 4 to the lightweight Yunan 7001 PF aluminum poles. Mountain Hardwear further ensures performance with its Guaranteed Watertight Construction. The fully-taped seams and welded construction of each model of Mountain Hardwear tent are tested in a custom-made "rain room" which subjects the tent to 1200 inches of wind-driven rain over the course of 24 hours.
With 50 square feet of interior space, the Casa 4 comfortably sleeps up to six. A large vestibule offers 22 square feet of additional sheltered space for storing gear or wet, muddy boots. Canopy storage pockets serve as interior gear hideaways. The 63 interior height of the Casa 4 provides ample headroom and increases livability. The single zippered entry of the Casa 4 has a double slider that opens wide to offer easy access. The rainfly door can be rolled open on fair weather days, allowing increased air-flow and ventilation.
Extensive mesh in the door, walls and ceiling of the Casa 4 combats the build-up of condensation and offers cross-ventilation. In fair weather, the rainfly can be rolled back and lashed in place to increase airflow. Reflective highlights and guy out loops provide visibility for those times when you need to set up after dark.
A custom-fit footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the Mountain Hardwear Casa 4 against rocks, exposed roots, mud and ground water.
