Product Highlights

Fully waterproof, breathable and durable enough for the trail, the Marmot PreCip Jacket is an excellent lightweight option for hikers and backpackers seeking reliable protection from wet or windy weather.

Offering fully-featured 3-season protection, the durable Precip Jacket keeps out rain and wind and offers maximum breathability. Marmot's Precip Technology offers a waterproof/breathable coating that has been reinforced with ceramic particles for added durability. Dry Touch comfort feels smooth and silky against the skin and doesn't stick to your arms in warmer temperatures, keeping you dry and comfortable. This durable fabric can take the wear-and-tear of wearing a pack and offers drop shoulder seams to eliminate chafing. Pit zips and two, mesh front pockets allow for increased ventilation. A 3-way adjustable hood with a stiffened brim lets you fine tune the fit when the weather gets nasty and rolls away when you don't need it.

Other features of the Precip Jacket include a double storm flap over the front zipper, two zippered, mesh hand pockets, Velcro adjustable cuffs, an elastic draw cord hem, and a DriClime lined chin guard for comfort. The Precip Jacket packs into one of the hand pockets for easy stowing when the weather is nice.

Available in a variety of size and color options, the Marmot Precip Jacket offers a semi-fitted cut that layers well over light to medium weight fleece, sweaters or base layers.

Likes: High quality, affordable price, simple effective features all add to good value. First rain/snow exposure went well.

Dislikes: Will need to see how it performs under pack straps for extended periods.

Likes: Just completed my first test run in a very severe thunderstorm with buckets of sideways rain, hail, and 50+ mph winds with much stronger gusts...not a single drop made it's way inside this jacket. Looks like a keeper for the upcoming tropical storm/hurricane season. Also, the recent sale price for this item made it a real bargain at just 80 bucks. Many thanks!

Dislikes: No surprise here, it's not made in the USA.

Likes: Does what it designed to do. Keep you dry. Stores away in pocket and lightweight.

Dislikes: Not quite as breathable as hoped but good value for the price.

Likes: I finally have rain gear that is comfortable and good looking. In addition it is light weight and fits well in my day pack! It kept me dry in heavy downpours.

Likes: Great breathability. In the sumer rain, I am dry and not hot. It is sufficiently long to keep rain off my torso and below my waist completely, even in a downpour

    Dislikes: A bit baggy

Likes: My wife and I purchased these jackets for our trip to Alaska in August and we were not disappointed.

Our priorities: A jacket that was breathable, lightweight, and waterproof. It exceeded our expectations and was the perfect solution for our trip since it rained almost every day!

Dislikes: Although it is compact, it doesn't pack into it's own pocket like some other jackets

  • Howard B. Flushing NY

Likes: The jacket is very comfortable, keeps me dry, seems to breath so that it limits sweating.

Dislikes: Couldn't find anything to complain about yet.
