Product Highlights

Boasting lightweight, durable construction, a roomy floor plan and an abundance of mesh, the Marmot Limelight 3P is a value-priced 3-person tent. Marmot even throws in a gear loft and footprint at no additional cost! Designed for three-season backpacking and camping, the Limelight 3P is ready to accompany you on your next backcountry adventure.

Intended to house up to three inhabitants, the Limelight 3P offers 42.6 square feet of interior space and dual doors provide easy access options. The rainfly's integrated vestibules provide weather-protected entryways and an additional 10 total square feet of covered storage space (5 square feet for each vestibule). Interior mesh pockets and a gear loft, which clips into the ceiling, are included with the Limelight 3P, serving as out-of-the-way storage options.

Three DAC Press-Fit aluminum poles provide the Limelight 3P with support. Integrated clips allow the body of the tent to attach quickly, easily and securely to the poles. The freestanding design enables you to set up the tent and then move it around your chosen campsite to find the optimal rock-and-root-free position. Reflective highlights in the fabric of the Limelight 3P make it easy to spot when returning to camp after dark or in low-light conditions.

Mesh panels in the walls and ceilings of the Limelight 3P allow air to circulate and combat condensation. The weatherproof floor with catenary cut and full coverage rainfly combine to protect the interior of the Limelight 3P from the elements. Even in those instances when weather is uncooperative and leaves you stranded inside the Limelight 3P, an integrated window in the rainfly allows you to see outside.

A custom-fit footprint is included to further protect the floor of the Marmot Limelight 3P from sharp objects, mud and ground water. The Limelight 3P's design offers a bare bones set-up option. If you really want to travel light, leave the tent body at home and use the rainfly alone with the provided footprint for an even lighter tarp-style set-up.

The Marmot Limelight 3P is available in your choice of colors.

Colors available: Alpenglow, Hatch/Dark Cedar

  • Joshua C. Santa Rosa CA

Likes: This is our primary backpacking tent and we love it. Stands up well to high winds if properly guyed. We've used it in rain and heavy, damp fog and it has kept us dry. Roomy for 2 people with packs, but also works fine for 3 people leaving the packs under the vestibules. Being able to setup with just ground cloth and rain fly is nice--saved us from getting too wet one time--we set it up like that to keep stuff dry while we huddled under and setup the tent later.

Dislikes: For this price range? nothing. It'd be nice if it were a little lighter, but then it'd cost a lot more. This is a good balance of price and weight.

  • Marty M. St Petersburg FL

Likes: This is the perfect size for one or two people. I will not be backpacking this tent, it will be for kayak camping in southern Florida. After seeing the quality of this tent I plan on purchasing the Tungsten 1P also for backpacking.

    Dislikes: none

  • . jefferson city MO

Likes: I really like the tent, it is extremely easy to assemble, plenty of room for two (large) people with sleeping pads. has room for extra clothing inside the tent. There is plenty of storage for small objects with the corner pockets and the over head storage.

Dislikes: The tent fly doesn't seem to provide enough ventilation, especially during hot, humid, rainy weather. We staked the fly out, and it kept the rain out of the tent, but it was very hot inside the tent, it doesn't allow much air flow through the tent.

  • . Montrose CO

Likes: Color blends in well with wilderness (green). Two entrances and two vestibules. Appears well constructed. Easy to set up. Comes with footprint.

Dislikes: Ends of tent are mesh and fly allows dust and dirt inside tent. We were in wind gusts of 30-40 mph in Sierra Nevada. Woke up with grit over inside of tent and on top of tent under rain fly. Fly needs to be lower and solid wall higher to prevent dirt coming in.

  • . Fort Worth TX

    Likes: Exactly as advertised.

Dislikes: Just have to be careful when packing to poles to make sure and not not rip the storage back. Would be nice have some type of external hardened storage pocket.

  • Trevor J. New Brighton MN

    Likes: Very light and sturdy!

    Dislikes: The lower mesh section

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: It was perfect for combating both elements and nothing got wet. Overall, I am very satisfied with this tent

    Dislikes: nope

Likes: I can get the whole tent set up with the rain fly on in under 2 or 3 minutes. For two full size guys and gear I'd probably go with the 3P.

  • . Lancaster NY

Likes: Purchased this tent for a music festival in the sweltering heat. It was easy to set up, provided tons of ventilation and kept me perfectly dry when it rained.

    Dislikes: No complaints so far!

  • . Chicago IL

    Likes: Easy to setup.
    Poles and stakes are sturdy.
Comes with footprint for rainy/inclement weather.
    Two doors with small window.
Plenty of space for 3 people.

    Dislikes: Nothing negative so far.

  • . Madison SD

Likes: This tent is the best tent we've ever owned. We have owned a lot of lower cost tents and decided to spend the extra money for a good one. We've just returned from a 10 day camping trip which included at least one decent downpour and not a drop of water got in. Love the two doors and vestibules. Love love love the tent. I would highly recommend the tent to anybody.

Dislikes: I wish it was a smidge bigger, but the 2nd vestibule helps to hold what I might have normally put into the tent.

  • Luke J. San Antonio TX

Likes: Construction is top notch compared to my old coleman dome tent with half rain fly terrible for the beach woke up covered in sand. So full cover rain fly is a big plus. Room is ample enough for two maybe a small child. Like included ground sheet two reason extra protection for an already well built tent but can be used as a quick shelter with the rain fly for sun shade or privacy for a quick change of clothes.

Dislikes: A minor complaint is the rain fly dose make it a little awkward to get in the tent as it's opening sits a little lower than door it's self. I have to almost crawl in. So if you have trouble kneeling down may want to look into bigger tent.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: I have used this tent for several months now and have been very pleases with the ease of setting up the tent. Plenty of room for 2 adults and backpacks. This tent has been used in several adverse conditions including driving rain, and sleet. The inside of the tent was nice and dry. Having a footprint and attic included are a plus.

Dislikes: Better tent stakes are needed to sufficiently hold down this tent. The joint on the tent poles is fragile and may possibly break.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Awesome Tent, such easy setup. Perfect for festivals and any camping. Very lightweight and sturdy. Perfect fit for myself, another person, 2 dogs and gear.

Dislikes: Wish it had a clip in pawprint

  • Kelly P. Mansfield center CT

Likes: Very easy setup, good breathability

Dislikes: Awkward to enter and exit the tent, small for 3P

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer

Likes: Perfect size to stuff in a backpack for a week-long hiking adventure.

Dislikes: It might say it's a 3-person tent, but really only for 2 comfortably.

  • ila a. Brewerton NY

Likes: I love that i did not get any condensation, FINALLY!!!
Very well built tent ! Very happy all around!!

    Dislikes: Not one thing

  • Jim A. Brentwood TN

Likes: What a great tent. Easy to setup, great new D shaped doors, very well made (almost 3.5 season tent), no condensation inside the tent on back to back backpacking trips with rain, double 10 sqaure foot vestibules, footprint and gear loft included, great rainfly, and tent stakes. As with every 3-man tent, its perfect for 2 and there gear.

Dislikes: Its a little heavier than some backpacking tents, but its more stable and stands up well in the wind.
