Product Highlights

Named for its innovative, encircling overhead support pole, the Marmot Halo 6P offers a full 100 square feet of interior space for base camping or family camping. When elbow room and overhead height are a priority, the Halo 6P offers standout performance.

In addition to its cavernous interior, the Halo 6P includes integrated vestibules that boasts 32 square feet of sheltered storage space. Large doors provide convenient access from either end of the tent. Interior pockets offer an additional storage option.

DAC Press Fit aluminum poles lend the Halo 6P sturdy, freestanding support. A unique pole design combines two sections to form a hoop that encircles the entire top of the Halo 6P, helping to pull the walls of the tent taut and vertical, increasing the overall peak height and creating additional sturdy support for the rainfly.

Ground level side vents, an integrated fly vent and extensive mesh on the walls and ceiling provide the Halo 6P with ventilation and combat condensation. The weatherproof floor and rainfly combine to protect the interior of the Halo 6P from the elements.

A compatible, custom-fit footprint, sold separately, can be used to further protect the floor of the Marmot Halo 6P from sharp objects, mud and ground water.

Likes: Cavernous interior. Nearly vertical side walls. Excellent entry and exit. Two huge vestibules. Great build quality, materials and attention to detail. Easy to set up.

Dislikes: Nothing to dislike, but the design forces some compromises. Cross ventilation may not be the best due to the full coverage fly. Reaching the bottom of the door to close the fly, once inside, is a stretch and contact with the sometimes damp fly is unavoidable.

Likes: This is, hands down, the best tent we have owned. It is easy to set up and very spacious thanks to its nearly vertical walls. After at least 8 uses, the tent and poles remain sturdy and strong. Great Tent!

Likes: The product was a great price and was delivered in a timely manner. When we got the tent we immediately set it up. First thing we noticed was the quality of the manufacturing. They paid attention to the little things that really make tent camping more comfortable. 2 doors with a door pocket fordoor storage, large vestibuleS, big vents and many pockets. Not until after we received the footprint did we find out that Marmot has a "bare-bones" setup. Very cool IF we camp without mosquitoes. (That may not happen!) Also the height of the tent is a little deceiving. I'm 6' and can walk around the inside perimeter without crouching.

Dislikes: We bought the footprint for the tent as well. I'm a little concerned that the footprint may be a little over-sized for the tent. Time will tell once we use the tent in a rain storm. (It's going to happen!) Only other concern is always finding a big enough site to put it on!

Likes: Very roomy tent with the halo design. Two nice vestibules. Rain fly is full coverage and will do its job. You get what you pay for . . . very nice tent!

Dislikes: Bent a pole on its first use, but won't effect functionality. (would be warrantied anyway)

  • Joseph A. Long Valley NJ

Likes: I'll give it 4 stars now for the roominess, but that performance may cause a change.

It's not quite as easy to set up as the video implies. The pole ends don't sit firmly in the grommets unlike an REI Basecamp I had. So the pole ends keep slipping out making set up more challenging.

Dislikes: Other others have mentioned that the poles bend. Sure enough, after my first use, one of the main poles bent. I will keep my eye on it and report to Marmot right away if necessary and hope it is under warranty.

Also, the footprint that is specifically designed for this tent is too large. I have to keep my eye on whether or not this causes water problems.

Likes: It's super easy to set up, even for inexperienced campers. The fine mesh keeps out even the smallest insects. There is great ventilation, even in warm weather.

Dislikes: It didn't come with any directions, but the Marmot site has a great video demo.
