Single wall construction, fully taped seams and a strong pole structure combine to make the Marmot Alpinist 2P tent a lightweight and completely weatherproof option for high-end mountaineering trips or 4-season backpacking in snowy, windy conditions.
Using Marmot's fully taped, MemBrain Assault 3L fabric for the ultimate durability and protection from wet or drifting snow, ice and wind, the Alpinist 2P will keep you and your gear dry in the worst that weather has to offer. Adjustable air flow ventilation at the top of the tent helps keep condensation to a minimum.
Marmot uses lightweight and sturdy poles made from DAC NSL dual diameter aluminum and incorporates their "knees" system into the pole architecture to create maximum living space (30 square feet) inside the Alpinist 2P. This livability will be much appreciated by anyone waiting out a winter storm. Marmot's Storm Pitch design allows you to attach the poles to the tent body after the tent has been anchored, making it possible to set up this shelter in high winds.
Additional features of the Marmot Alpinist 2P tent are an attached vestibule (8 square feet) for storing gear, a reinforced anchoring system of guyline attachment points on each wall and each corner, high pockets for out-of-the-way internal storage. A welded window in the single door gives you quick access to current weather conditions or a great view. A storage stuff sack is included.
