Product Highlights
The Marmot Aeolos 2P garnered a Backpacker Magazine Editor's Choice Award in 2006 and was re-recognized by this esteemed panel in 2007. Boasting an innovative pole design and an array of features, the freestanding Aeolos 2P offers high performance while weighing in at less than 5.5 pounds.
Easily accessed on either side by dual mesh doors, the interior of the Aeolos 2P offers 35 sq. ft. of floor space. Dual vestibules provide weather-protected entryways to the interior of the tent and an additional 19 sq. ft. of covered storage space. An optional gear loft (sold separately) clips into the ceiling of the Aeolos 2P and serves as an out-of-the-way storage option.
The unique, pre-bent "knees" of the Aeolos 2P's DAC NSL aluminum poles pull the tent body taut, avoiding the creation of unusable corners frequently found inside less innovative tents and maximizing the livability of the interior of the Aeolos 2P. In addition, the poles feature a dual diameter construction which trims unnecessary weight and provides optimal strength where needed.
Extensive mesh on the walls and ceiling of the Aeolos 2P ensures excellent ventilation and keeps condensation to a minimum. The weatherproof floor of the Aeolos 2P combines with the rainfly's ripstop nylon fabric and silicone/polyurethane coating to protect the interior of tent from the elements. Even in those instances when weather is uncooperative and leaves you stranded inside the Aeolos 2P, Marmot's Window Weld design allows you to view the outside world.
Employing integrated clips and sleeves, the body of the Aeolos 2P attaches quickly, easily and securely to the poles. The freestanding design enables you to set up the tent and then move it around your chosen campsite to find the optimal rock-and-root-free position!
A compatible, custom-fit footprint (sold separately) can be used to further protect the floor of the Marmot Aeolos 2P from sharp objects, mud and ground water.
