Product Highlights

Combining lightweight design with features like antishock, advanced locking mechanisms and extended ergonomic grips, LEKI's Thermolite AERGON XL Antishock trekking poles offer support and durability at a weight of only 17 ounces per pair.

The Thermolite AERGON XL Antishock trekking poles feature LEKI's Soft Antishock System (SAS) Lite that reduces stress on the joints, muscles and ligaments. The combination of internal steel spring and elastomer creates a smooth and unique suspension system that is quieter and reduces shock more effectively than other designs. LEKI places the SAS Lite system closer to the point of impact by embedding it inside the shaft of the lower pole section, keeping the spring cleaner and requiring less maintenance.

Incorporating a 15-degree positive angle that preserves a natural position for your wrists, dynamic, lightweight AERGON grips have an ovoid shape that can be palmed or held traditionally. A rubberized, dimpled top offers a textured grip point and easy-adjust straps reduce stress on your wrists and provide additional security and comfort. The extended length of the Thermolite AERGON XL Antishock poles' grips allows you to grasp lower on the shaft, eliminating the need to shorten the length of the poles every time you encounter a steep slope or side hill traverse.

LEKI's Super Lock System (SLS) uses wide thread patterns and steep-angled lock mechanisms to provide quicker and easier adjustments and is up to 60 times more secure than other locking systems. The SLS locking system is far less prone to loosening while in use, giving you peace of mind even in challenging situations.

Thermolite AERGON XL Antishock poles employ carbide flex tips that deflect up to 30 degrees without damaging the lower pole sections. This reduces the risk of pole breakage if the pole should get caught between rocks or tree roots on the trail. Standard trekking baskets are included and are interchangeable with a simple screw on/off design that stays secure. Optional snowflake and deep powder baskets (sold separately) allow the poles to be converted for winter use.

LEKI Thermolite AERGON XL Antishock poles are sold in pairs.

    Likes: Weight, locking mechanism.

Dislikes: Handle is not as great as the cork type.

Likes: These are great light hiking poles. They adjust to the terrain and the antishock reduces fatigue in the wrist.

Dislikes: I was told the lock mechanism is not as good as some - but so far I have had no problem at all with slipping.

Likes: Used these poles for 15-30 mile hikes in West Texas. Good shock absorption and the handles were very comfortable for long hikes. They have enough length to be used as support poles for my Nemo tent.

Dislikes: The friction locks needs getting used to in order to make sure the poles don't telescope while hiking.

Dislikes: The strap feels akward at times. Leaving the strap very lose seems to help this. Both my wife and I felt this way until loosing the strap.

Likes: Light weight, solid and comfortable grip.

Dislikes: It will be perfect if it could be as short as the size of airplane carry-on luggage.
