Updated for 2014! Combining easy-to-adjust external locking mechanisms, extended length grips and hybrid carbon and aluminum construction, ultra-lightweight (16.6 oz/per pair) LEKI Carbon Ti poles are ideal for thru-hikers and ounce-counting backpackers and snowshoers.
Incorporating an ergonomic angle that preserves a natural position for your wrists, lightweight AERGON Thermo XL grips have an ovoid shape that can be palmed or held traditionally. Rubberized, dimpled tops offer textured grip points and ultra-lightweight, easy-to-adjust straps reduce stress on your wrists and provide additional security and comfort. The extended length of the grips allows you to grasp lower on the shafts, eliminating the need to shorten the length of the poles every time you encounter a steep slope or side hill traverse.
LEKI's Speed Lock system utilizes integrated stainless steel pressure plates to provide a secure lock and keep pole sections from slipping. The fiberglass-reinforced mechanism resists stretching so it retains its locking ability after repeated use.
Carbon Ti poles employ carbide flex tips that deflect up to 30 degrees without damaging the lower pole sections. This reduces the risk of pole breakage if the pole should get caught between rocks or tree roots on the trail. Standard trekking baskets are included and are interchangeable with a simple screw on/off design that stays secure. Optional snowflake and deep powder baskets (sold separately) allow the poles to be converted for winter use.
NOTE: Designed to be ultra-lightweight, carbon shaft trekking poles do forfeit some of the durability found in traditional aluminum poles. Due to this trade-off and unlike the lifetime shaft warranty offered by LEKI on its aluminum poles, Carbon Ti trekking poles feature only a one-year limited warranty for shaft breakage.
Sold in pairs, LEKI Carbon Ti trekking poles have a usable adjustability range of 26.4”-53.1”.
