Employing a lightweight and collapsible design, Komperdell Carbon Approach Vario 3 poles are built for backcountry and high-peak demands. A hybrid carbon and aluminum design provides reliability at a lower-than-average weight.
Rather than utilizing a traditional telescoping design, the Carbon Approach Vario 3 actually folds down to minimize its packed size. Measuring just 22” in length when fully collapsed, these poles can be stowed safely inside most packs. When extended, the upper aluminum section and two lower carbon sections provide surprisingly rigid support and integrated, easy-to-use external locking mechanisms provide a usable adjustability range of 43.3”-55”.
Foam grips serve as secure hand holds and integrated straps reduce strain on your wrists.
Carbon Approach Vario 3 poles can be converted for winter use by replacing the standard trekking baskets (included) with one of the several styles of snow baskets (sold separately). The Tungsten/Carbide flex tips are designed to flex if the tip of the pole should get stuck, helping to protect the shafts from structural damage.
