For Komperdell Titanal trekking poles, this is the expansion nut that installs on the threaded post at the top of the center pole section and slides up into the upper pole section.

Komperdell Titanal poles have a center section that is 14mm in diameter and a top section that is 16mm in diameter. This part will not fit standard Komperdell poles which have a center section that is 16mm in diameter and a top section that is 18mm in diameter.
