I bought this backpack for my 10-year-old grandson, a cub scout. I had previously purchased the same pack for my now 12 1/2 yr old grandson, a boy scout. The pack is usable by boys or men, it will last well with appropriate use, the external frame is versatile for long hikes and camp outs.
Dislikes:
Because many of the boys in the troop have the same backpack, it would be nice to have a color selection available, otherwise at this time I can think of no negatives.

Great pack for pre-teen to younger teens. I recommend this to both the boys in my Cub Scout pack and the younger boys in my Boy Scout troop. Well balanced, highly adjustable and solid. Should hold up to years of regular use.
Dislikes:
Should have a raincover included, wouldn't cost that much more and many competitors products include them. Make sure you buy one. Pocket for hydration bladder needs more reinforcement to protect it from pack contents.
