Product Highlights

Ideal for backpackers, the Kelty Trail Ridge 3 tent delivers reliable 3-season performance at a budget-friendly price. The Trail Ridge 3 offers easy set-up, room for three and provides excellent ventilation in hot and humid conditions.

Three DAC Press-fit aluminum poles give the Trail Ridge 3 a sturdy frame and color-coded clip construction makes it easy to identify which pole goes where. The freestanding design allows you to pitch the Trail Ridge 3 and then move it around your campsite to find the optimum position, eliminating an uncomfortable night's sleep over an exposed root or rock. Stakes are included to secure the tent in place.

The Trail Ridge 3 provides 44 square feet of interior space and almost 4 feet of overhead peak height. Internal storage pockets and an included gear loft provide places to stow gear and maximize available floor space. Two 9 square foot vestibules offer a total of 18 square feet of additional exterior storage space for wet or muddy shoes and gear.

A full mesh canopy combines with venting in the rainfly to provide great airflow and prevent condensation build-up on the interior of the Trail Ridge 3. The PU-coated polyester-taffeta rainfly covers the whole tent and keeps the interior of the tent dry during wet weather. Kelty's patented ArcEdge construction lifts the taped, floor seams up off the ground, eliminating potential for leaks. An optional footprint (sold separately) can further protect the Kelty Trail Ridge 3 against ground water, roots and rocks.

Likes: Excellent,,super easy to setup. we really love the Two doors; two vestibules system "no more crawling over each other".LOTS of space.

Dislikes: The fly vents on top are not really useful and never really stay open..

Likes: The tent was really easy to setup. I had the tent put together within a few minutes. The cross bar is quite nice in making the side walls close to vertical giving a nice roomy feel. For the cost/weight I think the materials are excellent for the poles, walls, and fly.

Dislikes: The ventilation with the fly could be a little better, but still acceptable.

Likes: This tent is great! It is extremely roomy, and has great ventilation. I wanted this for a summer tent so that air could flow freely on hot summer nights. For this purpose it is perfect. I generally understand a 3 person tent to house 2 people, which is true of this tent too. Unless you are 3 very small people, plan to put 2 people in here.

Dislikes: It is a little on the heavy side. My 2 person tent is a solid 2.5 pounds lighter, which I miss.
The rain fly is deceiving. From the picture it looks like the rain fly comes all the way to the ground. This is nearly true, but not completely true. I live in a rainforest, so the rain fly is crucial. Also, you have to stake the rain fly in 8 places to keep it from laying against the tent thus letting water in. They provide said stakes, so this is intentional and makes the tent more sturdy during tough storms. It is, however, a pain in the rump. Overall I love this tent and am happy to have it!
