The Kelty Teton 4 is an ideal choice for backpackers on a budget. The Teton 4 is easy to pitch and very well ventilated. For the price, the Teton 4 is tough to beat.
With a minimum weight of 7 lbs. and an interior volume of 54.4 sq. ft., the Teton 4 provides a respectable space to weight ratio. A 12.3 sq. ft. vestibule provides the Teton 4 with additional exterior space for stowing gear and muddy boots. The combination of sidewall vents and mesh fabric used on the tent body provides excellent ventilation for combating condensation build-up and keeping you cool during warm weather.
The Kelty Teton 4 uses color coded clip construction that eliminates the hassle of feeding poles through cumbersome tent sleeves. Just slide the shock-corded pole sections together and attach the clips. The freestanding design of the Kelty Teton 4 allows you to pitch the tent and then move it around your campsite to find the optimum position, eliminating an uncomfortable night's sleep over an exposed root or rock.
Kelty's ArcEdge construction lifts floor seams up off the ground, preventing water seepage around the floor and wall seams of the Teton 4.

Likes: Great tent for the cost sensitive backpacker. The quality of Kelty tent was amazing at this price. Being in BSA, I have used a large number of tents over the years. This one had all the feature of the "high" end tents without the cost. The performance has been great; use the tent one weekend during heavy rain. Nothing got wet inside the tent.
Dislikes: The weight is a little heavy for long backpacking trips, we split the tent between two hikers.

Likes: Advertised packed weight: 7 lbs 8 ozMeasured packed weight: 6 lbs 15 oz (That’s a nice bonus!)Pros:-Fast setup time for one person.-Very waterproof in downpours. Good taped seams.-Good ventilation when fly is taken off. Good for star gazing.-Very good stability in 50mph winds. Be sure to use the fly’s Velcro straps in this scenario.-large vestibule for shoes and backpacks-one of the lightest 4-man double wall freestanding tents out there. -mesh pockets for small items-comes with gear loft-takes up little space in the car trunk. -large easy-to-use zippers
Dislikes: Cons:-The aluminum stakes bend easily. Recommend replacing with titanium or aluminum gutter nails.-No windows. This is not a Con but other notes:- Can sleep 4 if they are less than 6’. If taller, then can only sleep 3 if rotated 90 degrees.- Zip the fly door before staking out.- Stake out fly for better ventilation
