Product Highlights

Updated for 2010! Offering the dual benefits of a mid-sized day pack and a fully-functional child carrier, the feature-rich Kelty TC 3.0 is ideally suited for on-the-go families. Sleek and compact, the TC 3.0 is less unwieldy and more maneuverable than bulkier framed child carriers.

A lightweight, internal aluminum frame adds stability to the TC 3.0, ensuring proper load transfer and enabling you to carry up to 40 pounds (including your child, the TC 3.0 itself and any gear). An integrated adjustment slider allows you to customize the suspension of the TC 3.0 to accommodate torso lengths ranging from 11" to 16". Together, the laminated padded shoulder straps, a cushioned, laminated backpanel and a laminated, padded waistbelt make the TC 3.0 comfortable to carry. Load-lifter straps and an adjustable sternum strap further enhance fit and provide greater comfort.

The padded child seat and 5-point harness ensure your child's safety and also aid in effective weight distribution and maintaining of balance. The height of the seat can be adjusted to account for the growth of your child.

The TC 3.0's 1450 cubic inch capacity packbag provides ample storage and an internal organizational pocket neatly stows diapers, bottles and other supplies. Mesh pockets are designed for storage and quick access to bottles. An elastic mesh pocket on the front of TC 3.0 provides quick access to additional gear. Zippered pockets on the waistbelt provide another storage option for valuables. Sewn-in carry handles make the TC 3.0 easy to tote and an integrated foot stabilizer enables you to safely secure the carrier when loading and unloading your child.

Additional features include a removable changing pad, a removable sun hood and integrated toy security loops.

Made of 420D polyester and brushed nylon fabrics, the Kelty TC 3.0 child carrier is available in your choice of colors.

Likes: The backpack holds more than any other kid carrier I've seen on the market. Kid fits in well and comfortable to wear.

Dislikes: It seems better suited for younger kids (under 12 mo) as there's not much upper body support for taller kids as other packs I've used.

Likes: The comfort and overall design of the pack is fantastic. My son is very comfortable in the pack and it is easily adjustable to accomidate him as he grows (took me about 60 seconds to adjust). The foot stabilizer for loading is great! Love that they finally included the sun shade w/ the pack (the changing pad is a nice bonus too). Internal frame provides stability unmatched by similar packs. Great little pack overall.

Dislikes: I wish they had kept the ability to zip up the compartment where the child sits. It made it convenient to carry the pack like a small backpack with some kid stuff in it when your child was out not. However, if you pull the side straps tight and velcro the top loop handles it works quite well to do the same thing.

The lack of the removable diaper bag (small external pack) is not very noticable due to the addition of the changing pad for 2010. The pad also has a small external pouch for storage.

Although not designed for long hikes (6+ hrs), it could work in a pinch. Design/comfort/ease of use, all outweigh any negatives.
