The Kelty Compression Stuff Sack allows you to free up space in your pack by reducing the packed size of your sleeping bag. Integrated compression straps cinch down to tight to reduce the volume of your bag. When not in use, the Compression Stuff Sack folds inside itself for compact storage.

Accounting for the wide variety of sleeping bags, the Kelty Compression Stuff Sack comes in four different sizes. The S size (Curry) compresses sleeping bags from 6" x 12" down to 6" x 9". The M size (Rhubarb) compresses sleeping bags from 8" x 15" down to 8" x 10". The L size (Juniper) compresses sleeping bags from 10" x 18" down to 10" x 10". The XL size (Deep Blue) compresses sleeping bags from 11" x 22" down to 11" x 10".

Likes: Basic compression sack that matches one of our sleeping bags. The straps don't slip and it works just fine.

    Dislikes: A little pricey

Likes: Strong, well made stuff sack. Cinches up tight. Packs up small and lightweight. Different colors for different size sacks keeps gear organized and easy to recognize in my pack.

Likes: Great size and it comes in its own sack to keep it contained that will fit within the air bag for my sleeping bags.

    Dislikes: So far, nothing yet.

Likes: sleeping bag fits nice and snug , great compression . I'll be getting a few more of these

    8/14/2013

Likes: I like the style of the straps and the fabric. And I love that it stores in it's own pouch. It make sit easier to store and to pack in case I need an extra. I have the medium and my Marmot Women's Helium 15 fits in it quite well.

Dislikes: I have already busted a seam while being a little too rough on a strap. One of the straps with the buckles came off the pouch. I can still use the sack for compression using some heavy duty safety pins (I'll get around to sewing it some day). So, you need to be a little gentle when compressing it.

Likes: seems sturdy enough, decent design.

Dislikes: looks and feels like you could shred the stitching on this pretty easy is you got too aggressive with the compression straps. But no problems so far. They need more info on picking a size. I got a medium(green)and my 0 degree mummy bag barely fits. Prob need a large.

Likes: Great compression sack! Easy to use strap system makes it easy to compress down to smaller size. My North Face 20 degree bag compressed to nearly 1/2 of its usual stuff sack size. Light weight, and the green isn't too bright. Great Price!

Dislikes: The lid on the compression sack is not quite wide enough. This makes it a little harder to use than my Event Compressions sack (which I love!) This one is also $30 cheaper than my eVent was, so it was worth a little extra work!

    5/20/2013

Likes: Unlike other compression sacks, Kelty's design keeps the cinch staps from getting tangled or twisted. Love that the sack can be converted into it's own stuff sack for easy storage.

    3/8/2013

Likes: A must for back packing to save space. We have three for extended night hikes. This sack works great on my REI Lumina making it 1/2 the size of the sack it came with. Best price of all comp sacks I shopped. Very well made. All direction compression. Practically no weight add from this comp sak

Likes: Large, roomy, but VERY compressible. Straps are positioned to get good leverage to compress. Just hard to gauge which size is needed for various items.

Likes: Excellent compression sack and great price! I used it to compress my down sleeping bag and was able to gain at least 3 inches of space in my backpack. I will probably purchase a smaller one for my clothes.

    Dislikes: Nothing!!

  • Jack A. Orondo WA
    9/26/2012

Likes: Ease of initial stuffing is best of any compression sack I own. I specifically like the draw string arrangement with the string exiting the sack neck via a metal grommet. Two of the compression straps have quick release buckles which makes releasing the compressed item much easier.

Dislikes: Compression straps are sewn directly to nylon shell material. Not the strongest construction technique.

    9/26/2012

Likes: It works just like it should, compresses my sleeping bag down just as it is intended. High quality material, doesn't seem cheap or like it's going to break.

Dislikes: I ordered the largest size, and its much too large for my REI Zephyr sleeping bag. I would have purchased a smaller size.

  • Phillip W. South Elgin IL
    9/6/2012

Likes: Able to compress an extra large zero degree sleeping bag with dimensions of 22" x 12" to less than half the size. Very well made & high quality!

  • Lane G. Westminster CO
    8/6/2012

Likes: Love the sack. Really really useful. I have one for my sleeping back and 2 for both my tent and tent fly. Using these sacks I can fit my sleeping back and tent into my sleeping bag compartment on my pack.

Dislikes: not very forgiving. If your sack it too small for what you want to put in it then you're SOL.

  • Lane G. Westminster CO
    8/6/2012

Likes: bought this for my sleeping bag. Works great.

Dislikes: I would recommend over estimating though on size. If you think you sleeping bag needs to go in a Small compression Sack then get a medium. They really have no give at all and if she sack is too small then it's next to impossible to get use out of it.

Likes: My compression bag came with a regular cinch-sack case, this helped compress it another 5-6" making more room in my backpack for other items.

    5/6/2012

Likes: Bought a new tent and it came in a taquito bag, which even put together neatly tends to be all over the place. So,the Kelty Compression Stuff sack fits the bill and keep everything in nice tight package.

Dislikes: Really wanted a green colored sack but maroon will do.

    4/20/2012

Likes: The 2 clips on the compression straps make keeping the top from getting tangled much easier than on other bags that I have seen.

Dislikes: I returned the product because the bag I purchased was much bigger than I needed. As far as I can tell, it was well made.

  • Jason F. Chandler AZ
    4/19/2012

Likes: My son's standard size Kelty CD20 sleeping bag stuffs into this sack down to the size of a volleyball. I think we can fit the sleeping bag and 2 man tent without poles into it, but haven't tried that yet. Used it several times now. It works very well and seems very sturdy. It is the M size.

    Dislikes: No complaints.

  • Anonymous Backcountry Edge Customer
    3/17/2012

Likes: Definitely compressed my bag down quite a bit, I was impressed. The space you can save with this in your pack is well worth it if your backpacking, otherwise it may not be necessary.

Dislikes: It was a bit of a struggle and slightly more time consuming then I'd like. I feel a bit like ive stuffed one of those toy springy snakes into a can and its going to burst out when I open it.

Likes: This is a great product, very reasonably priced and sturdy. You can't have too many compression sacks to keep things under control in your pack. I use them for clothes as well as for my sleeping bag.

    10/23/2011

Likes: Great stuff sacks. Light weight, extremely useful, and durable. I use mine to compress down my clothes to save room in my pack. Really helps on my back country fly fishing trip when I have to have 2 sets of clothes (1 to wear while the other is drying off) from wet wading, or in colder weather when you need to pack the fleece for around camp at night. Fleece is light, but bulky, the compression sacks really help decrease the bulk.

    Dislikes: nothing!!

  • Roseanne P. Nassau NY
    9/10/2011

Likes: The Kelty does the job, brings my pack down to a much more manageable size easily.

Dislikes: There isn't anything I don't like about the product; however, it would have been helpful if there was included a recommendation for what size bag works best with each size compression sack. I had to guess - and fortunately got it right.

  • Don H. Birmingham AL
    9/7/2011

Likes: Grest stuff sack and works well with my new Kelty down sleeping bag. Easy to use and better than sleeping bag provided stuff sack.

    Dislikes: Nothing...recomended

Likes: Good compression sack love how the top strap stays into place when open. you never have to search for the straps to find which one goes where, and it compresses down great just like it should. I'll buy more when needed no doubt. The price is to good to pass up.

  • Shawn F. Apple Valley CA
    9/11/2010

Likes: It did what It was supposed to.

Dislikes: Broke after second use, seems to be the result of low quality stitching.

  • Jacob S. Portland OR
    9/10/2010

Likes: Very easy to compress and seems very sturdy. Not waterproof, but water resistant. The sizing is a little of the big side. My Kelty cosmic down 20 degree bag (regular size) fits well, but I have to pull up a bit of slack before it starts compressing. Over all a great bag!

    Dislikes: a little too roomy.

Likes: I bought this with my larger winter sleeping bag in mind which it fits very well and compresses down to a size that fits in the lower sleeping bag compartment in my Kelty Red Cloud 6650 fine. Now that it is summer I use it to pack my clothes in. It works great for both. The sack fits into the top pocket and stows away easily. Standard Kelty quality, sturdy, strong, well made.

    12/11/2008

Likes: Price, Value, Strong construction. You cannot go wrong with these compression sacks properly sized to your sleeping bag.

Dislikes: Sorry, It is just a compression sack- mo material defects I can see in the design or construction.

  • Douglas R. Tallahassee FL

Likes: It is very well made stuff sack. It compresses sleeping bags down to packable size easily.

Dislikes: The straps slide out the buckle to easily, and is difficult to re thread, when one is in the middle of stuffing a bag.
