Great product for the full day or overnight hike. Holds it all and easy access to everything. Has a versitality if you need it for multiday hikes. Good lash points for whatever you need. I have even used it for travel as a carryon. Great pack just what I wanted
Dislikes:
Liked it all, well worth it for the day hike plus.

Very roomy; enough space to carry everything for a serious day hike where you need extra clothing, rain gear, lots of snacks/food, maps, water purification, headlamp/flashlight, etc. Like that it is made to carry a hydration bladder. Lots of pockets and outside tie-downs to accommodate many different hiking needs.

It's all good!

It's roomy, great size for carry-on, and was my main bag for a 2-week trip to Mexico - the other being a fanny pack. It comes in different lengths; I have a long torso and most packs are too short. The pockets are generally very well thought out. I was sold on the product by the 2008 version, but the 2009 managed to improve.
Dislikes:
The open pockets on the sides work perfectly for water bottles, except they are not really deep enough. My thermos tends to fall out (even with the strap) when I set the pack down.

I bought the Redwing 3100 for a hike into the Grand Canyon. I liked the comfort and design of the pack. It fit me well and could be adjusted easily. We stayed at the bottom of the canyon for 2 nights. On the 8 hour hike back out I was grateful for my choice of pack as it never gave me any problems.
Dislikes:
My only issue with the design is that there is no hanger at the top for my water bladder. Prior to the hike I cut a piece of nylon rope and created a 2 inch loop and connected it to the handle strap and fed it into the pack where the hose comes out. I hung the bladder from this. That solved the problem of keeping a 100 liter water bladder in maximum vertical position.

This pack is great! Lots of space for a dayhike, with enough extra space if you wanted to pull an overnight as well. Many pockets and loops to stash everything you need! I have a larger Kelty pack as well, also excellent, but I prefer the Redwing.

A terrific pack. Perfect for what I need it for. I do plenty of traveling and this is the perfect size for being on the road for long stretches. It's a big pack but not an unwieldy huge pack...which is great for me. It's very well made and built like a brickhouse which is the norm for Kelty packs. Has great organization ability too. I recommend it.

There is not a thing I don't like about it.
