Product Highlights
Updated for 2009! A long-time trail favorite, the versatile Kelty Redwing 2650 is equally at home in the backcountry or in town. With an array of color offerings, the Redwing 2650 is a functional and fashionable do-it-all pack.
A single aluminum stay and an HDPE framesheet equip the Redwing 2650 with lightweight, reliable support. A contoured, padded waistbelt offers comfortable load support. Kelty's patented Scherer Cinch uses a pulley-like system to double the tightening force on the waistbelt, ensuring that the brunt of the pack's weight rests on your hips. When you aren’t carrying heavy loads and don’t need the additional support, you can remove the waistbelt entirely and reduce the weight of the pack.
Anatomically curved and padded shoulder straps further enhance fit. Load lifter straps relieve stress on your shoulders and an adjustable sternum strap positions the shoulder straps across the chest to prevent chafing under the arms and on the shoulders. The Redwing 2650 is designed to comfortably fit torsos ranging from 16.5"-18.5" in length. Side compression straps help you to cinch and secure the contents of the Redwing 2650 for optimal balance and load distribution.
The large main packbag of the Redwing 2650 offers convenient access through a large, zippered front entry. An additional large pocket located on the front panel provides internal organizational options. Additional features include zippered side pockets, a stash pocket, an ice-axe loop, a carry handle, a daisy-chain attachment system and dual mesh water bottle pockets. A lined interior pocket and built-in tube exit make the Redwing 2650 hydration compatible.
The Kelty Redwing 2650 is available in your choice of Nite Sky, Blood Red, Gold or Silver color options.

EXCELLENT PACK AND THE QUALITY IS OUTSTANDING FOR THE PRICE!!THIS PACK CAN BE USED FOR MORE THEN HIKING. WITH GREAT OUTSIDE ZIPPERED POCKETS AND A REMOVABLE WAIST BELT, WHICH IS ONE OF THE REASONS I PURCHASED THIS PACK YOU CAN USE FOR ABOUT ANYTHING. I ALSO PURCHASED THE KELTY REDCLOUD 6650 FROM BACKCOUNTRY EDGE A FEW MONTHS AGO. KELTY PRODUCTS ARE A REAL VALUE. MITCH H.

I had the 2008 version of this pack and bought the new one because it was lighter, I liked the color more, Kelty redesigned the side pockets (the passthrough is awesome), the mesh pockets and it was on sale. I do like the zipper pocket and straps on the bottom of the pack as well. So far it's growing on me and I'm committed to the new one since I've sold the old one (to help fund the new one of course). I'm sure with some additional use I'll grow to love this just as much as the rest of my Kelty gear (Red Cloud, Corrie 1, Quartz 1, and Light Year bags).
Dislikes:
Kelty removed the bladder hanger and didn't make the sleeve smaller because I'm told some folks use it for laptops. I haven't tried using this with a bladder yet but I think it's gonna be messy; I may come up with something to hang the bladder if needed. The side pockets appear smaller than the old version and aren't as expandable. The belt is a lot harder to hide than on the old version, too. It's removeable but I'm afraid I'd lose it.
