Product Highlights

A long-time favorite of female hikers, the versatile Kelty Redwing 40 Women's pack is big enough for a day-and-a-half in the backcountry and streamlined enough for use as an around-town day pack. With an array of color offerings, the Redwing 40 Women's pack is a functional and fashionable do-it-all pack.

Kelty's women's packs incorporate features designed specifically for female users. Anatomically designed, the angled shoulder straps accommodate a woman's curvature while the conical waistbelt offers finely tuned support and comfort over the hips.

A single aluminum stay and an HDPE framesheet equip the Redwing 40 Women's pack with lightweight, reliable support. A contoured, padded waistbelt offers comfortable load support. Kelty's patented Scherer Cinch uses a pulley-like system to double the tightening force on the waistbelt, ensuring that the brunt of the pack's weight rests on your hips. When you aren't carrying heavy loads and don't need the additional support, you can remove the waistbelt entirely and reduce the weight of the pack.

Anatomically curved and padded shoulder straps can be quickly and easily adjusted, allowing the Redwing 40 Women's pack to accommodate torso lengths ranging from 14.5" to 18.5". Load lifter straps relieve stress on your shoulders and an adjustable sternum strap positions the shoulder straps across the chest to prevent chafing under the arms and on the shoulders. Side compression straps help you to cinch and secure the contents of the Redwing 40 Women's pack for optimal balance and load distribution.

The large main packbag of the Redwing 40 Women's pack offers convenient access through a large, zippered front entry. An additional large pocket located on the front panel provides internal organizational options. Additional features include zippered side pockets, a stash pocket, an ice-axe loop, a carry handle, a daisy-chain attachment system and dual mesh water bottle pockets. A lined interior pocket and built-in tube exit make the Redwing 40 Women's pack hydration compatible.

The Kelty Redwing 40 (2500) Women's pack is available in your choice of color options.

Likes: A kelty backpack for $70 screams value. This pack is great for dayhikes or 1 over night trips. There isnt really enough room for a sleeping bag to fit easily and strapping one to the bottom isnt a great option due to the short straps. However if you are using the pack for its intended use you cant go wrong. Im glad kelty is smart enough not to use 1000 denier nylon which would just make the bag weigh more. It is not top loading but the main compartment is very roomy and expands nicely. Also the front main pocket expands outward so when the bag is full you can actually put things in it. Quality, comfort, high value makes this pack a winner for its intended use.

Dislikes: I wish the compression straps were longer
