The Kelty Redwing 3100 is big enough for a day-and-a-half on the trail, yet versatile enough to use as a large around-town daypack. The removable waistbelt makes it a snap to convert to light-load use.

The Redwing 3100 fits 18.5-21 in torsos.

When carrying heavier loads, the Redwing's suspension system transfers weight from the shoulders to the hips, reducing fatigue and shoulder strain. The suspension system includes a single LightBeam aluminum stay, padded shoulder straps and a padded back panel.

The Redwing's main compartment is accessible via the front panel. The large front pocket features internal organization. Zippered side pockets, mesh water bottle pockets, a zippered stash pocket, a security pocket and a fleece-lined optics pocket all help you stay organized.

The top carry handle makes it easy to grab the Redwing and go, while the side compression straps let you cinch up your load for a tight and comfortable carry.

Likes: I have been looking for a day-trip sized backpack with a wide waist strap for a combination diaper bag/train bag. I got this and love it. The various compartments allow me to stay organized and the waist strap and internal frame make it comfortable to wear all day.

Dislikes: No complaints so far.

Likes: It's very durable and has lots of pockets to stash my gear. I used it as an overnight pack on a recent camping trip and I was able to stuff it with the essentials.

Dislikes: It's a little on the heavy side.

Likes: The Redwing is great for dayhikes or for around the town. The pack works well with hydration systems. Great fleece lined pocket for sunglasses and an organizer compartment. The pack can car a lot of stuff, whether it be gear or things for around the town. The waist strap is very easy to adjust and remove, and the pack is also easy to adjust to your fit.

Dislikes: Nothing it is a great product and I will use it more often.
