With an array of features, adjustable shoulder straps and a padded backpanel, the Kelty Redtail 1800 is a versatile day pack that's ready-made for back to school or back country adventure. Whether you're packing outdoor gear or textbooks, the redesigned Redtail 1800 offers ample room without adding a lot of weight to your load.

An integrated delrin arch gives the Redtail 1800 supportive strength and helps to stabilize your load. The padded, ventilated back panel and soft, breathable fabrics in the back and shoulder straps make the Redtail 1800 ride comfortably. The wicking material found in the backpanel and the channeled construction allow for airflow and help to lessen heat build-up and prevent the sweat often associated with carrying a pack. The shoulder straps, sternum strap and removable waistbelt are all adjustable, further enhancing the fit of the Redtail 1800.

The Redtail 1800 has a large main compartment with top zippered entry. A large zippered front pocket has a number of sewn-in organizational pockets for separating gear or storing pens, pencils and other school supplies. A sewn-in fleece-lined valuables pocket provides a safe haven for glasses, a camera, binoculars or an MP3 player. A smaller zippered front pocket offers an additional storage option.

A daisy chain and gear loop add to the Redtail 1800's versatility. Two mesh side pockets are designed for easy access to water bottles or other items. A lined interior pocket and built-in tube exit make the Redtail 1800 hydration compatible.

Made of rip-stop nylon and polyester, the Redtail 1800 is available in your choice of colors.

Likes: This is a great Day Pak for the price I paid.

Dislikes: If anything, more compartments would be a plus.

Likes: Good organization, zippers are easy to open and don't get caught in the fabric, holds a 100 oz camelbak bladder with ease. Great no-frills pack. Although it is 200ci smaller than the women's Shrike 2000, it actually holds more (due to its more sensible shape) and is MUCH more comfortable.

Dislikes: Straps are a little uncomfortable - can't wear for an extended time with a short sleeved shirt because it rubs against my arms, and the fabric is rough. But, I'm very picky. YMMV.

Likes: The Redtail daypack is made from a durable nylon fabric that is water resistant. The fleece lined pocket in the small organizer compartment is great for sunglasses or any other items that needs protection against scratches. The shoulder straps are nice and thick, easy to adjust, and comfortable. The pack is also easy to use with hydration packs. The Redtail is basically a half-size version of the Redwing.

Dislikes: The waist strap could be wider.
