Product Highlights

The Kelty Red Cloud Junior delivers trusted Kelty trail performance in dimensions designed for younger backpackers. This classic backpack has load-hauling capability, convenient access points and an array of features.

The adjustable suspension system found on the Lakota Junior relies on a single lightweight LightBeam aluminum stay to support and stabilize weight. A contoured waistbelt offers comfortable load support. Kelty's patented Scherer Cinch uses a pulley-like system to double the tightening force on the waistbelt, ensuring that the brunt of the pack's weight rests on your hips.

The Red Cloud Junior’s anatomically curved and padded shoulder straps can be quickly and easily adjusted to accommodate torso lengths ranging from 14"-18". Load lifter straps relieve stress on your shoulders and an adjustable sternum strap positions the shoulder straps across the chest to prevent chafing under the arms and on the shoulders. Side compression straps secure the contents of the Red Cloud Junior for optimal balance and load distribution. An integrated spindrift collar and height-adjustable top lid allow you to carry even more gear and further aid in securing the pack's contents.

The top-loading Red Cloud Junior also incorporates an innovative design on the lowest portion of the packbag that provides wide access through the bottom of pack. This feature makes it much easier to get a sleeping bag, clothes or other gear in and out of the Red Cloud Junior than is often the case with the compartment access on comparably-sized packs. A zippered front panel offers additional quick access to your gear from the front of the pack. A large pocket located on the front panel provides internal organizational options.

Additional features include zippered side pockets, a daisy-chain attachment system, a carry handle, ice-axe loops and dual mesh water bottle pockets. A lined interior pocket and built-in tube exit make the Red Cloud Junior hydration compatible.

Likes: From first sight I am very pleased with the apparent quality of construction and usable space. I will update once my son has used it once or twice as soon as spring comes around.

    Dislikes: Nothing so far.
