On its initial adventure, I took Kelty Red Cloud 6650 on 5-day trip into a snowy deep canyon country near The Maze of Canyonlands NP, Utah. Gear easily packed in & out of spacious backpack. Backpack wore very comfortably on my 6-foot, 150-lb. frame--no discomfort of rubbing or awkward weight distribution. Top (detactable) part wasn't as spacious as top part on my previous Gregory backpack, so I had to adust what I stored there. Side pouches were great to hold 1-liter water bottles for easy access while backpacking, though velcro flap fastners weren't reliable if weight of a full water bottle pressed the velco. Backpack proved very durable & reliable. Look forward to years of usage.
Dislikes:
A couple of minor things I note in what I did like about the backpack.

BIG, Plenty of space. Strong construction. Looks good. Kelty value and warranty. Comfortable suspension system and waist band. Waist band adjustment system is great!
Dislikes:
Would like the external pockets to be BIGGER. Want more VERY STRONG attachment points externally to affix gear to.
There are no waist band pockets of attachment points. Should have a couple of small waste band pockets.

This pack is large enough to carry everything you need for an extended trip. This is a user friendly pack at a great price and is loaded with features you would expect to pay more for. The pack has plenty of storage pockets and provides all the ways you could possibly want for attaching gear to the outside. Make sure you can handle the weight. This pack is easy to overload.
Dislikes:
Needs occasional adjusting when carrying a heavy load on longer trips. A little more padding on the shoulder straps would be great.

Size was quite large and allowed me to take more than I probably should have. Comfort was good with many adjustments.
Dislikes:
Would have liked more lash points.

This pack is large. I am a large man generally saddled with lots of gear for my wife and daughters so it is exactly what I was looking for. However; if you do not want a HUGE pack I would look at one of the smaller Kelty models. Easy adjustments and comfortable - good side pockets and hydration ports seems rugged although I have only taken it on one packing trip so far.
Dislikes:
There is always room for my wife to sneak stuff into my pack. Enormity can sometimes be a downfall!! I would have appreciated a bit more padding on the waist belt during my last trip but I was really hauling a huge load so I am not sure if all the padding in the world would have helped.

This is a great-value all around "Week-10 day" journey backpack. Backed by Kelty's usual lifetime guarantee and history of making dependable products, we found these bags much more practical for our Scouts than the more "premium" and more than double the priced alternatives. We used to recommend that our Boy Scouts buy external frame backpacks such as the Kelty's that range around 3500-4000 ci. We think we'll switch to Kelty internals such as this one perhaps ranging up to about 5000ci for general use (Of course scaled to the size of the scout, with room to grow.)
Dislikes:
I would like to see a stronger attachment points at the bottom (outside) of the pack to attach a sleeping pad external to the pack. The current two patches seem a bit flimsy and will probably break over time) Similarly, It is not clear where you can affix a tent and its poles. (I would like strong attachment points for the optional addition of straps for tents, etc.
I am a big fan of BIG external pockets. There are two nice ones on the pack sides. Would like two more, roomy externals (probably on the sides - but not in a way that would reduce the size of the two current external side pockets.

Lots of storage space, comfortable fit and a lifetime warranty. The price can't be beat compared to the other packs on the market.
Dislikes:
Wished it had external tiedowns on each side to carry sleeping bag to allow even more space for food, clothing and/or meat packing in hunting season.
